Here’s some great audio of Key running Crosby/Textor lines to avoid answering Havoc’s questions. Around the half way point my personal favourite C/T line even makes an appearance: “I intend to run a positive upbeat ambitious campaign; I think it reflects my personality”. As Havoc observes “[John] you’ve spent the last nine months gaining New Zealand’s trust and now that it would appear we don’t know who’s talking”. Bingo.
UPDATE: Sounds like you and I might have been paying for Key’s use of Crosby/Textor too.

I know you guys are totally obsessed with John Key and every word he utters, but I cannot see the problem with what he said – It was interesting Mikey try and look for some conspiracy – but I really think most people do not care. The point, Monty, is this. John Key may well end up as Prime Minister by the end of this year. If he wants to gain that august postion, however, the onus is on him to tell us what he would do. Not simply repeat a mantra consisting of a few slogans mixed with the occasional dog-whistle. At the moment all he is doing *is* sloganeering, which is why he is getting taken to task.

And Steve – you forgot to mention that they are such bad news for Labour that most on the left now recognise thatt he election is lost and those who don’t are simply in denial.
