Maybe our votes could be weighted depending on how much tax we paid. Therefore higher income earners would have more votes than a lower income earner.
No subsidy, essential industry, worked 7 days a week during the first lockdown. Oh and paid OT, additional leave, family care package each week etc. However I’m certainly appreciate that plenty of people have it very tough during that time.
Sure you’re kinda right, but if you’re having to explain that, then you have lost
Why would most tradies want to work for themselves?
A good mate of mine started a building business after being made redundant. He now employs about 10 guys who now all make a good living. I’ve worked for small and large businesses, in general I have been treated well. There has been the odd “Karen” aka the...
That’s been my personal experience, from teachers in high school, to the present day. Of course it’s not everyone in the Labour Party, but it’s enough for me to realise that I certainly am not welcome, especially if I have an opinion, that hasn’t been ...
Millsy, I doubt that you would know a white working class person if they walked up to you and slapped you in the face. BTW Everything you said that I should support, I do. But the minute you (I mean the woke white middle class Tweeting liberal, not you ...
I’ve had Teachers & Nurses in my family for ever. And I’ve always heard how badly paid they are. But up until a few years ago they were always paid way more than me.
The public service workers in my family are all on good salaries. I doubt that most tradies want to work for themselves. But hey what’s wrong with that, & why wouldn’t Labour support it?
Millsy, the attitude that the white working class is a lost cause is probably the root of the problem. WE DO VOTE! Insulting us is not going to get us to vote for you, & to win an election you need people to vote for you. Cutting your nose to spite your ...
Unfortunately far pay agreements aren’t mentioned around the smoko table. That’s part of the problem, but I’m not sure how to solve it.
My Nephew is a young 20’s something, working for a government department in Wellington, active on Twitter and “woke” as fuck. This is something that he cannot comprehend. There is a perception among “blue collar” (high income tradesmen, without a degree) ...
Funny that, I do have fond memories of Dunedin in the early 80’s.
My humble apologies. You are right no one is more one eyed than a Cantabury supporter. As a Hurricane supporter, I am living for the moment we will two championships in a decade….
House prices are dropping due to affordability, the new financial regulations, the fallout from covid & the war in Europe. Seriously Labour Party supporters are even more one eyed than a Canterbury supporter
Let’s be honest this Labour government is pretty lacklustre, they would have been a one term government if it were not for Covid. unfortunately the bulk of the voters have been turned off. You can’t make someone vote for you if they don’t want to. they ...
Exactly my point. Investigate.
An investigation whether Woodhouse (and the National Party) knowingly withheld information should be done today. If he and other National MP's/Leader have knowingly withheld information from public health officials they need to be sacked or resign. It ...
So Lying is ok by your opinion. [lprent: You appear to be astroturfing assertions again. Lets nip that in the bud shall we. Banned for 3 weeks for lying by omitting any supporting arguments for your assertions (yes there is humour in that sentence) and for...
not talking about key,she lied,simple.
Sorry Kiwis know when they hear a lie,she did it by omission.
I like your post. It's kind of astonishing how far the conversation around abortion has come in the past year. Before then, a sizeable proportion of Kiwis believed New Zealand had legal abortion on request already. Sadly, no. Whatever legal structure ...
Every time I hear (or heard about) our "Rock Star" economy I'm wondering when I'm getting my trip on "The Star Ship" www.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Starship Anyway I can't imagine poor old Bill partying with Led Zeppelin without crying for his poor old ma. But...
I think the Nats are starting to suffer from "Jacinda Derangement Syndrome".
I know they wont take that bet.
Really worried about the standard of governance we are showing. Very disorganised. Need to be better across the board.
I voted Labour,I believed in their vision. I wont vote Labour again. Sorry but I cant think of a thing I was told, apart from paid parental leave that is what I voted for. Sorry again,I cant support Labour with this leadership group in charge.
The Nats must have got carried away with Bill English's "Rock Star Economy" and thought they were Led Zeppelin, pity they didn't have Page & plant's legal team...
We need to change the conversation about tax. Wage & Salary earners are taxed before our pay ends up in our bank accounts, our Kiwisaver contributions are taxed, if I have some spare cash & I open a term deposit, the interest earned is taxed & deducted by ...
My mother is very elderly. I look after her financial affairs, She has never received one of these letters.
My theory, for what it's worth... There is a cunning old devil who himself leaked the story, knowing that people would assume it was the Nats, thereby making him look the victim.
