   Quote: ” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer exploited the attack to justify President Trump’s ban on immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries. “It’s a terrible reminder of why we must remain vigilant and why the President is taking steps to be proactive rather than reactive when it comes to our nation’s safety and security,” Spicer said at this afternoon’s briefing when speaking of the Quebec City attack.

   But these assertions are utterly false. The suspect is neither Moroccan nor Muslim. The Moroccan individual, Mohamed Belkhadir, was actually one of the worshippers at the mosque and called 911 to summon the police, and played no role whatsoever in the shooting.

   The actual shooting suspect is 27-year-old Alexandre Bissonnette, a white French Canadian who is, by all appearances, a rabid anti-immigrant nationalist. A leader of a local immigration rights groups, François Deschamps, told a local paper he recognized his photo as an anti-immigrant far-right “troll” who has been hostile to the group online. And Bisonnette’s Facebook page – now taken down but still archived – lists among its “likes” the far right French nationalist Marine Le Pen, Islam critics Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, the Israeli Defense Forces, and Donald J. Trump (he also “likes” the liberal Canadian Party NDP along with more neutral “likes” such as Tom Hanks, the Sopranos and Katy Perry).

   It is usually the case that there is significant confusion in the wake of attacks of this sort. And local police did apparently arrest two suspects at first: both Bissonnette along with el Khadir. And until the investigation is complete, one cannot know for certain what the motives here were. One should be careful about trying to infer too much from a hodgepodge of Facebook “likes” and, this early, even anecdotal claims about his political views. As for reports that someone yelled “Allahu akbar,” it is perfectly natural that someone in a mosque would say that upon seeing a homicidal killer randomly shooting people, or it’s possible that the shooter said it mockingly.” Quote end.

   We are being played. While they fed the world alternative news to the point where everyone is right yet wrong at the same time.
   Divide and conquer. Them vs us and we end up all dead.
   If the goal is to dis-stabilize the US society and maybe even provoke some sort of ‘low’ level civil war type unrest they are well on their way about it.

   Sadness is all around us.

     There has always been an element of unrest in the province of Quebec, right back to activist cells with their bombing campaign. Did I read this correctly, the NDP being classified as liberal?

   Thanks for adding the link. I wasn’t aware of the spin that had put around this.

   Given that people are mobilising in various ways against Trump’s stupid bigotry and xenophobia, you’d have thought Trumpets would have had the sense to not just ‘sound off’ without checking some basic facts.

   This type of brainless bullshit won’t divide and conquer. It’ll consolidate opposition.

   The White House seems to be operating as I’d imagine the Beehive might have if Whaleoil and Farrar had been given actual positions in government instead of being put on leashes to follow orders.

   Today I’m thinking that this shit (this admin) is going to be coming down fast. The problem is that Pence then steps up and forward…

     It is chaos they are creating, which in the end will allow for martial law. From where i stand this is the goal. Create a Police State where the most feared phrase again will be ” Papiere bitte”.

         cause to bring the second coming of Christ you need to sack Jerusalem (lets build a huge military fort called US Embassy there – what could go wrong?), kill all the orthodox Christians (who like the roman catholics, and many other are not considered to be ‘saved’ only reborn evangelic Christians are, and thus need to die as the heathen they are), Jews (really you think they care about Jews?), and Muslims (muslims are already being killed in large numbers so they just need to speed that up a bit).

     Indeed surely they can’t keep up the pace this divide and conquer fascist stuff. He lost the popular vote. And of those who did vote for him not all are unthinking alt right bigots who will applaud everything the God Emperor does. A large chunk genuinely thought he was going to bring positive change, drain the swamp etc, and another large chunk never really liked him but just wanted to vote against Clinton. These two chunks didn’t vote for Steve Bannon.

     The thing is the in the US of A there’s this thing called the American dream. A land of freedom that is a beacon for the rest of the world. Of course the crucial word here is ‘dream’, as in it’s always been a fantasy, but it’s a dream that has been rammed hard into the American psyche, not least by politicians who commonly promise to realize that dream. In less than two weeks the Trump administration has been crapping on that dream as hard as their bowels will let them, like he’s got a checklist for fascism that he’s trying to complete by Friday. Maybe this is just an initial flag flying burst as others have said, to see who makes noise and who falls in line. And just like a child seeks to find out what they can and can’t get away with by pushing and breaking the rules until they get punished, he’s flouting the law, ignoring court decisions, to see what happens. But he came into the office with record low popularity, unless the crapping is dialed back I don’t see how he can last one year. Then again, I’ve no doubt that in every nation that slides quickly into banana republic status, there are plenty of people like me in the beginning saying “surely he can’t keep this up”.

     Right now the craven, sycophantic psychopaths that Trump has surrounded himself with are deciding whether they can really prop this guy up for four years as an easily manipulated puppet, or whether at some point soon enough they’ll have to throw him under a bus and commence the Mike Pence show.

   Facts are the last thing they need, facts don’t matter when you want the water as mucky as possible. distorting everything until it fits the narrative you want. And destroying confidence in media so that people only believe and trust when it fits the composed lines that have been planted there as bait.

   This is a real war a real battle and most are bringing knives to a gunfight.

   Lets assume this (trump et al) plays out as badly as its potential….we could see millions of voluntary (nominally in many cases) emigrants seeking refuge in Canada…at what point would the border north be closed?…and by which side?
