"fills up whole threads, saying the same thing in 20 slightly different ways" A deliberate joke? It's funny anyway, I've heard it all before, whole threads of it (in slightly different ways of course).
So why aren't Ardern, Robertson, Bloomfield, Ombler, police and Civil Defence heads as well as all journalists working from home? Signing legal documents electronically or scanning and sending them is common now. Most court processes are operating ...
Both Bridges and Clark have important enough jobs to justify being based in Wellington where most of the decision making and communication with the media and the public is based. Especially the Minister of Health.
Perhaps this could also apply to David Clark.
Before you pile in with troll accusations I suggest you read down the thread.
Waitati, not Waitangi. Doctors Point is actually a great beach to take kids, we often take grandkids there (and go without them too). There's large walkthrough, caves, rock pools. Last time we were there (January) there were crabs in the low surf, last ...
'shit, I screwed up and I've learned from it' - four days after the story started to come out requiring the Minister of Finance and Prime Minister to cover for him and make misleading if not false statements about his availability. It was a series of ...
Not nice to see it took Clark 4 days to comprehend what he has done and front up to the PM.
That's been covered here: Two Bubbles Bridges’ Big Day Out I think there's an argument for key people to front up in person dealing with the pandemic. Some are doing that in Wellington, including Ardern, Robertson and a number of officials and police. And ...
Statement from David Clark Last night as part of my preparation for the Epidemic Response Committee, I provided the Prime Minister with a complete picture of my activity outside my home during Alert Level 4. That included the fact that on the first weekend...
Most of us certainly have time to think about and discuss what we would like the future Aotearoa to be like. Except our leaders who should be extremely busy right now trying to figure out how to enable the country to survive the pandemic. But now, a time ...
Non-performing ministers in critical portfolios in a crisis probably have a longer expiry date - like for as long as he refuses interviews.
Probably with other pretexts but it woulod have come up for sure. But he's got to front up sooner or later and deal to that. Or is he going to go full funkstille?
"Do you really not see what Ardern did today? " Yes, she gave journalists an opening to infer Clark was an idiot, a notion she didn't do much to dispel. If Ardern is smart she won't let this fester away, which is likely if left unaddressed and information ...
As above, refusing interviews from Newshub. And obviously other journalists are showing concerns about it.
Good question. I don't know. I do know that he has seemed to struggle with interviews he has given over the last couple of weeks, he has sounded unsure and lacking in confidence. Perhaps that's why he has quietly been given a reduced role.
You attempt at flippancy is a pretty lame attempt at diversion, and I think stupid in the current situation of a pandemic. Media have picked up on the MIA issue... https://twitter.com/oneforthedr/status/1246617895829819392 ...and that's a big deal for a ...
I never thought the bike ride was a big deal apart from being embarrassing for Ardern efforts to get people following her message of staying away from risky pastimes. But what it has highlighted is a Minister of Health being shielded or hiding away at the ...
So how long do you think that Clark should refuse to do interviews (despite Ardern and Robertson saying he is always available) just in case someone asks him an awkward question that he would prefer not to answer? Or do you think he should only do ...
I think this tweet speaks for itself, adding to this thread. https://twitter.com/oneforthedr/status/1246608668394549250
Q+A is hardly a gossip column, it's not perfect but it's one of the best political media forums we have. With Clark not fronting up Simon Bridges got a spot, and surprisingly he came across well, far different from his usual. Generally supportive of ...
I thought it was kinda obvious. Robertson said that Clark was "always available" for interviews according to Jason Walls. Also Stuff reported Robertson as saying “He’s available to front anytime". But Jack Tame pointed out he reneged on a scheduled Q+A ...
I didn't read a link to something from two years ago - it's still irrelevant to the tweets.
All of them the bane of modern politics and the ruin of potential leaders. David Shearer suffered badly from it, as did Andrew Little (but as it turns out Ardern is a far better communicator anyway). Ardern herself has been better when finding herself in ...
None of that looks relevant to the two tweets, it looks more like a shoot the messenger diversion.
Bridges was interviewed on Q+A this morning, and it was far the best I've seen him. Sensible, largely supportive of Government measures dealing with Covid, but pertinent questions about testing and quarantining of incoming travelers. He seemed to be ...

Based on the latest Health Act Notice the police issued Police Operational Guidelines – 4 April 2020 yesterday. It was slow coming, and it isn't comprehensive enough, and it's still vague in some respects, but at least it's an improvement.
That would work in some respects for decisive people (although reading reactions and the feel from a group is much easier in face to face meetings). The problem here is there are indications that Clark isn't a good decision maker and that's perhaps why he ...
Preparation for demolition had started recently (but is probably now on hold). But there's another hold up. The hospital’s site master plan, due for Cabinet consideration last month, had already been delayed and is unlikely to receive immediate attention ...
Largely due to two events that took place before the lockdown began - a Hereford conference in Queenstown and a wedding in Bluff - it looks like the Southern District may be already have a problem coming out of Level 4 any time soon.
