Just flicked on TV1 to see what’s happening in the rugby. Host is a man who pushed his partner down the stairs. Kicked her as she lay. Broke her back in 4 places. Cause he’s ‘famous’ he got off with only 300 hours CS & a 10K fine. He bribed her to keep it out of the news. Tells me a lot that TVNZ Radiosport thinks Veitch is an acceptable face of their station and of rugby. Then I switched off. [Fuck, Veitch is on Radiosport. It was Devlin on the TV. My point still applies to Radiosport]

Keith Quinn was treated like dirt by TVNZ at times, especially towards the end of his career there. His sacking from our public broadcaster was a shitty way to treat a man who is the one of the best rugby commentators in the country. His knowledge of rugby facts and figures added a lot of value to match coverage. Not like those idiots on Sky, ‘Nisbo’, ‘Muzza’ and ‘Smithy’., and Andrew Saville is out of his depth on One.
Maori TV coverage is excellent, and is not ad-saturated like the other networks.
It was goo dto see the back of Quinn, and its a shame that MaoriTV recycles his doddery error-prone commentary.
There are far better informed, tacticially astute, technicians of the game who comment from a position of knowledge, as opposed to Quinn’s position of bluster.

I reckon Marshall did not want to answer any questions Sharples may put to him regarding the Urewera raids. Collin’s did not also appear and not sure if a reason was given.
Well Marshall aint independent from the government when he starts using the general election as an excuse.

Devlin is a prissy little piece of nothing isnt he? He couldnt take it when Marc Ellis attached “things” to his nipples on teevee. He squealed like a suckling pig. What the hell TVNZ thought they were doing using him as the face of rugby in New Zealand is beyond me. He has as much backbone as a boiled lettuce sandwhich.
Veitch is a pillar of the (white) community. That is why he out and about and welcomed in acceptable society.
Now if his skin was a shade darker and his culture was not Euro, and his bank account was smaller, Tony Veitch’s face would still be behind bars in some tiny little concrete or stone cell in Mt Eden or Parry.
