Following the recent Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission to allow unlimited corporate funding of federal campaigns, Murray Hill Inc. today announced it was filing to run for U.S. Congress. Read the whole press release.
Here’s their first campaign ad:
We once allowed companies to vote. So there is a precedent.
How about simply coming clean and calling the US voting system ‘one dollar, one vote’?
Dunno why its taken the US so long – we’ve had a Happy Mealâ„¢ on the ninth floor for over a year.
So that’s why Key was seen running from Brownlee and yelling “Fer chrissakes Gerry, it’s a figure of speech!!“
When I first came across this a few days ago, I thought it had potential.
But, no.
In the grand old liberal tradition of pulling punches, smarmy sleeve giggling and self congratulatory back slapping at another expression of our superior intellect and wit triumphs.
They should have run as Murray Hill and underplayed or even rendered invisible the inc. As it stands it’s just another piece of adbuster type b/s playing to the limited and ineffectual chattering slice of the left’s constituency.
Bit harsh there, me ole mate.
Sure, there’s that smarty-pants giggling amongst ourselves aspect and, yeah, it would have been fun if Murray had got elected. Yet, the ad also speaks to the wavering voter, those few on the Right able think and make up their own minds. The RWNJ’s can never be reached until they come face to face with the day to day reality of the policies they parrot – and here I’m thinking of a couple of those people Michael Moore took to Cuba for free medical care as an example – but there are plenty in the middle well worth reaching out to before “the machine” gets wound up to full speed.
And who’s to say there are not a few other “Murrays” out there . . .
Hopefully it’s not this Murray Hill although he is as mad as a hatter so he’d probably fit right in..
