John Key, on the other hand, would have a hard job filling in a 2-minute video with any real achievements he accomplished for this country while he was prime minister.

All he mostly did was help transfer a lot of taxpayer money and assets to the wealthy National Party donors.

She could have got it down to a minute on stuff implemented this term.

She's good at her job and good on her.

He looks like John Key (with less hair) and OMG he sounds exactly like John Key. surprise

I thought for a second it was John Key.

Despite finding Jami Lee Ross rather uninspiring at best, I'd absolutely love to see him beat Luxon, and for the latter to sink politically without a trace. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's celebrity politicians from elsewhere waltzing into a safe seat, and being groomed in the media for policy-free celebrity contests. John key and Maggie Barry are obvious examples. The election and rise to leadership of David Shearer was also an example. The rise of Jacinda Ardern and the re-election of Shane Jones bear many similarities, too, although their backgrounds in actual politics and community representation make the situation somewhat different.

I don’t like ‘done deals’, they smell too much of status quo and self-serving entitlement. My antibody titres tend to go through the roof when smug smiling schlemiels arrogantly announce it’s a ‘done deal’.

To be fair, David Shearer had been a member of the Labour Party for some years and was a former candidate in 1999 and 2002:

Shearer had twice previously stood for the Labour party: in 1999 he stood as a list-only candidate and in 2002 he unsuccessfully contested the Whangarei electorate. In May 2009 he returned…

Jacinda had been active in the Party since she was 17 and she was a MP for 10 years before hitting the top spot.

Shane jones? Well, he was the choice of the Northland Maori contingent in the first instance. Not such a good choice for Labour…..
