  1. adam 1

    What a lovely couple

  2. adam 2

Part two if you liked part one. Remember this is all about going out and talking to people.

  3. Paul 3

Charities doing the job of government
The government booking motels and selling state houses.
    Record numbers on the streets.

Just another day in John Key’s neo-liberal nightmare.
Greed, selfishness and cruelty flourishes under his malign and wretched leadership.

    • Gangnam Style 3.1

So there was never any ‘flying squad’ of MSD workers knocking on car windows.

      • Sabine 3.1.1

how can you fly and knock on car windows. that would be some pretty low flying there, no?

        • WILD KATIPO 3.1.1.1

          How low can you go?

Well Sha na na answered that in what looks incredibly like a National party convention , – complete with the same sort of factionalism , shallow arrogance and infighting evident particularly after the arrival of the MOU…

    http://m.nzherald.co.nz/opinion/news/article.cfm?c_id=466&objectid=11652317

This article suggests that city people are far worse at polluting than farmers , and not a fine to be seen any where.

  5. weka 5

Someone is going to have to explain the photo to me.

    • mickysavage 5.1

Taken from the parody twitter account mimicking the new Senior’s Party that was recently announced.

      Details are at https://twitter.com/NZSeniorsParty

      • weka 5.1.1

Crikey, not sure about a Seniors Party, nor about ridiculing elders.

        • Kiwiri 5.1.1.1

Seniors Party? It’s my old mate from Brit, Barnaby Perkins, who also wants to exit. Britain, that is. Most seniors in New Zealand are better off with Grey Power who do great policy work and are non-partisan.

        • mickysavage 5.1.1.2

Some of my most cherished family members are seniors and I am not that far off being one myself …

The party needs some exposure and analysis tho

          • Jenny Kirk 5.1.1.2.1

I thought NZ First was the seniors political party. Who is this lot trying to take it over ? What’s Winston going to say about that ?

          • Incognito 5.1.1.2.2

            http://www.nzpensionprotest.com/Home/the-fight/new-zealand-seniors-party

From a quick glance it seems to have a very narrow political platform. Website mainly focuses on pensioners, pensions, and associated issues but this seems to be quite thoroughly done maybe overdone. Membership is open to anybody of 50 years of age or older!?

            • Colonial Viper 5.1.1.2.2.1

They are a bunch of old folks who want to double dip on their international pensions and on NZ Super

  6. Paul 6

Meanwhile the corporate media keep trying to distract people and push propaganda for this vile regime.
Enter Max Key, just an ‘ordinary’ young man.
The media puppets are complicit in the crimes being inflicted on the vulnerable of this country.

    • Graeme 6.1

WTF was that distracting the plebs from hearing about. Must be something pretty juicy coming up for that to be wheeled out.

Paula admitting lying to the PM?

      • Paul 6.1.1

It distracted them from hearing this message.
A message directed to the Prime Minister from an 11 year old living in a van.
‘Try walking in my shoes. It’s not actually that easy’

  7. Paula Bennett in 3 news looked and sounded very flustered and she showed her horrible side for all to see – time to pile on the pressure.

    • Anne 7.1

Have a watch of this from Question Time today. Twyford succeeded in making her angry and the horrible side (in my view it’s the only side) was there for all to see.

      http://www.inthehouse.co.nz/video/43774

      • marty mars 7.1.1

        Thanks Anne I enjoyed that.

        • Jenny Kirk 7.1.1.1

Yep – I did too, Anne. What a nasty person she’s turned out to be.

      • Kevin 7.1.2

Does the Mad Cow not understand that the fact they have had to put $41 million into emergency housing shows that her government has been a complete FAILURE in this area. She crows about $41 million like it is something to be proud of.

        • Macro 7.1.2.1

And that money is only to prop up the emergency housing that is already there! No expansion – so the problem can only get worse.

      • AmaKiwi 7.1.3

        Bennett is not coping.

Her huge weight gain speaks volumes about her state of mind.

        • Colonial Viper 7.1.3.1

Someone has told her that she has no shot of leading National

          • Stuart Munro 7.1.3.1.1

She has to out sumo wrestle Gerry for the job. Atavistic selection processes in the Gnats – only their public side is 19th century.

    • Wensleydale 7.2

It doesn’t take much for Bennett to start getting stroppy. A smart opposition politician could easily leverage her short fuse through persistent, calculated questioning, and have her digging her own grave in short order. There’s blood in the water. Don’t let it go to waste.

    • M. Gray 7.3

When you say she showed her horrible side that’s her main side ( like a main course ) shes already showed her B side and her A side

  8. Paul 8

Another day in John Key’s neo-liberal nightmare.
We have become a cruel, selfish, uncaring and selfish nation under his wretched leadership.

A message to John Key from an 11 year old living in a van.
‘Try walking in my shoes. It’s not actually that easy’

    • b waghorn 8.1

On one news tonight they said 72% of people asked thought the government should just get on and build more houses, it probably escaped most of those 72% that that’s what labour wanted to do , but hay they’d drink a beer with shit key.

      • Sabine 8.1.1

time changes a lot of things, the disease of homelessness, poverty and misery is spreading, and its out in the open, so yeah, i can see why suddenly people want government to build houses…..they can’t afford to anymore.

      • Colonial Viper 8.1.2

As I said, if Labour had its shit together on this issue in 2007/2008, we would have had waves of Auckland social housing including social apartments being completed in the following 4-5 years i.e. up to 2012 or 2013.

Then Labour could have stood tall about what it wanted to do.

    • Macro 8.2

God it makes me so f**king angry that we can think of spending $1.2 billion per year on military equipment, and not provide adequate housing for the people we are supposed to be “defending”. It is the height of obscenity.

    • Sabine 8.3

missing a scholarship by 2 marks while living in a van with 7 other people.
Gosh, that girl is putting Ms. Bennett, Mr. Key and Mr. Bill English to shame, and also NZ.
      thanks for posting that.

    • Jenny Kirk 8.4

thanks for putting this up, Paul. Otherwise I would have missed it. A smart, bright little girl – finding life is not easy. How can you tell that to a PM who doesn’t give a stuff, who’s life is easy and full of richness, and status and obsequieness ? He doesn’t want to know ….. and yet, he is responsible for the nightmare that so many NZers now live under.

    • Macro 8.5

This must rate as one of the most heart rending and powerful interviews I have ever heard. A very articulate and wonderful young person. These people – all of them she represents deserve much better than this.

  9. Reality 9

A very brave and smart young girl and what a profound comment she made. What will her future be.

In the meantime an attention-seeking self-absorbed spoilt prat with too much time and money is posing in his underwear and there is this young girl who only wants some books to read.
