On one news tonight they said 72% of people asked thought the government should just get on and build more houses, it probably escaped most of those 72% that that’s what labour wanted to do , but hay they’d drink a beer with shit key.
time changes a lot of things, the disease of homelessness, poverty and misery is spreading, and its out in the open, so yeah, i can see why suddenly people want government to build houses…..they can’t afford to anymore.
As I said, if Labour had its shit together on this issue in 2007/2008, we would have had waves of Auckland social housing including social apartments being completed in the following 4-5 years i.e. up to 2012 or 2013.
Then Labour could have stood tall about what it wanted to do.
God it makes me so f**king angry that we can think of spending $1.2 billion per year on military equipment, and not provide adequate housing for the people we are supposed to be “defending”. It is the height of obscenity.
