Good news for those who did the work making the ship ready to go.

Reminds one of when the American Pacific fleet kept colliding with other shipping.

Pretty close to the mark, reflects really fucking poorly on Kiwirail that despite a full compliment of properly qualified staff on the bridge it seems none of them knew how to operate the ferry properly. You'd think knowing how to disable or overide the autopilot would be common knowledge for anyone in charge of a vessell.

Oh look the lying shits at Destiny Church are getting caught out on their bullshit. So it was a big distraction and attacking Te Pāti Māori was done for more dog whistle politics from the right.

Watch out for the lies and bullshit to come from the bottom feeder Andrea Vance, as she scrambles to save what is left of her stinking reputation. Here a hint on how to start to save that reputation Andrea, apologise to Te Pāti Māori and John Tamihere, it would do wonders for your self respect too.

Whilst a lying prick from national goes scott free over $178,000.

You think we live in a racist country much…

Despite, or because of the C of C first 6 months in office, emigration hits new highs.

The blocking of the Fair Pay Agreement, risible increases in the MW, rising unemployment (lack of hiring in even the front-line public services) and the same old Work and Income regime is one driver.

The original use of the term "bleeding heart" in 19th C America was from Christians with a social gospel message.

J Edgar Hoover, was for separation of religion and politics and a strong opponent of the social gospel (fellow travellers) – thus King's I have a dream speech was a "red flag".

Notably the Moral Majority movement (from 1979)(then Christian Coalition)(Heritage Foundation – currently Project 2025) only began after he left the FBI, with the GOP making its move to base itself in the Old South (and supplant the Democratic Party there democrats there because of discontent over "civil rights" liberalism).

Pegler was a bit of hater himself. He didn’t like the labor movement, Communists, fascists, Jews, and perhaps most of all, liberals. In one 1938 column, he coined a term for liberals that would eventually come to define conservative scorn for the left. Pegler was the first writer to refer to liberals as “bleeding hearts.”

Lerone Martin, Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Research and Education Institute at Stanford University, discusses his recent book, The Gospel of J. Edgar Hoover, which reveals how Hoover and his FBI teamed up with leading white evangelicals and Catholics to bring about a white Christian America by any means necessary

DEFINITELY time for crossbows to be classed as firearms (if they aren't already) and subjected to the same sort of stringent licensing.

Any excuse to privatise the ferries eh Crickle?

Actually over the last year Kiwirail ferries performance with their old ferries has been good in terms of punctuality and service to customers.

And it turns out this government has wasted nearly half a billion dollars cancelling the new rail-capable ferries. A complete shambles from this one-term government.

I notice that Blue Bridge has not been running Ferries aground recently and just keeps transporting passengers trip after trip ….. so private enterprise seems to be working better that the State system.

From bleating about transparency in government when in opposition, somehow it doesn't matter when you're in charge.

NZF associate minister Costello is forced by Ombudsman to apologise for hiding info on the development of smoking policy.
