    Mine too.

    @esm@mastodon.social

Today I saw someone refer to the X logo as a "sans-serif swastika", and now this is going to live in my head forever.

United Fruit Co still at it.

Washington, D.C., June 10, 2024 – Today, an eight-member jury in West Palm Beach, Florida, found Chiquita Brands International liable for funding a violent Colombian paramilitary organization, the United Self-defense Forces of Colombia (AUC), that was responsible for major human rights atrocities during the 1990s and 2000s.

  3. SPC 3

A UN group in South Korea – Five Eyes nations and Philippines (MacArthur did return there, but was dismissed after being chased out of North Korea by Chinese after moving towards the Yalu River).

Truman "no I will not use nukes to save your reputation, it is time for retirement".

And thinks, first Acheson does not mention South Korea as among our security concerns and then I get a military decision to ignore history as to China's response to military advances on its borders – and this after we use our fleet to secure the Nationalist retreat to Taiwan). What next, someone tries to re-unite Vietnam by force.

    70 years on …

One option, is competent diplomacy … after the century began with PNAC. If not now, when?

There is the old, let us scratch each others backs (no missiles in either Turkey or Cuba – 1960's, nor West or East Europe – 1980's).

Does Xi want Joe to remove western/foreign forces from South Korea?

Would Xi guarantee to the UNSC to enter into a security alliance with South Korea?

Would Northern Korea enact nuclear weapons disarmament (in return for nuclear power capability and assistance with water efficient irrigation and investment by South Korea corporations in northern industrial development – production)?

Complicating the scenario is the matter of China's movement of lines on the same map used by the rest of the world. And Taiwan (1949, who was POTUS then, oh Truman).

There is a hole, in the bucket dear Liza, a hole.

Time for a bucket list, dear Henry, a bucket list.

Once upon a time Henry, husband of the rightful Queen Elizabeth of York built a navy. Their descendant Elizabeth Tudor had need of it.

Would Xi guarantee to the UNSC to enter into a security alliance with South Korea?

Would anyone in South Korea believe him, if he did?

I think they're too smart to be turkeys voting for Christmas.
