The IDF uses catapults to launch attacks towards Lebanon. Israeli media report that the border area with Lebanon is covered with dense vegetation, which is a problem for Israeli forces deployed in the area. It is believed that such arson attacks are intended to help the army identify terrorists attempting to infiltrate Israel or carry out other attacks.
