Good to see us doing the right thing and helping some of our island neighbours back home where they seem to be very needed. Pleasant to see us spending some public funds on people who really could do with the hand.

Rather than the somewhat over entitled who have dominated the headlines and soaked up a mass of valuable taxpayer resource of time and energy from top down – many of whom with a great deal better things to do to push the country forward.

Lets hope that when the time is right we have the opportunity to welcome them back.

I couldn't agree more!! The people who come here and work hard should be helped.

Those other well off entitled folk should start paying for their stays and costs, That might mean better behaviour and a sense of commitment to controlling the virus, rather than trying to dodge their responsibilities.

I was staggered to learn that the NZ payer has been paying the full costs of the first two weeks of those who have been coming "home" to NZ – many no doubt to shelter from Covid 19 elsewhere in the world , until its safe to go back to what they were doing.

Yes Janet. Although I am not too bothered about the tax payer footing the bill, particularly for people without much money.

What I am disgusted by is the complete lack of personal responsibility of those whose hotels bills we were paying. Carping on about lack of social distancing as if they are five years old and need a big person to come and sort it out!!!! Those people in these social isolation facilities have let us down big time………….

Ron Mark looking more Stupid disarming the police.

If cops were routinely armed there would be more gun crime, the awful situation today was a total anomaly. I doubt Mark is saying "disarm the police", they have access to arms already.
