What's going on here (click on image)? Would the ground beneath the pipes have been empty like that before, or did all that fall away somehow too? Or just the top big? Tarmac and a bit of clay on top of the pipes?

530 rooms dedicated to wealthy NZ pandemic holiday-makers to NSW. This on top of 30 berths in flash hotels given to Indonesian (unsustainable) fishermen.

    All on the taxpayer!

I'm all for being kind, but this is ridiculous.

I would like to know if a day 1, 3 and 12 Covid – 19 test is done?

Think it is day 3 and not day 5.

Also the reason for travelling to Australia?

I'd like to see if this bubble has created something other than massive bills.

I don't think it has created anything but a massive headache and fear for those now stuck in OZ.

Someone was saying about the heartless way the Covid19 system doesn't take into consideration personal circumstances and the reply seemed to be that those can't be considered – apparently it is first come, best served. Probably an algorithm deciding it. Are they real people in political parties or do they just put in guest appearances for a photo op and then buzz off to their other jobs, whatever?

There must be some option for personal circumstances because I think someone I knew got in on them. But they were pretty dire circumstances.

The thing is that people would "exagerate" their circumstances so it would have to be fact checked and someone would have to decide and then it would be appealed and the whole thing would get bogged down. Better to let it be random and then only extremely special cases be given a dispensation.

There should be no charging by anyone for getting a place. If someone gets a place and gives it up then it should go back into the pool at a random time in the next 12 hours – not immediately.

What about this lady?! Heads should be rolling. We need to be putting our own people first not fucking tourists either from NZ or anywhere else.

FYI when mesh goes bad the ONLY option is to fly to the US for surgery.

Stuck in the United States, in pain and unable to sit for long while recovering from major surgery, Glenys Mahoney has been turned down for an emergency spot in managed isolation again.

The Palmerston North woman has three open wounds after surgery to remove large sections of mesh devices implanted 15 years ago. The procedure, carried out by a world expert in mesh removal, was not available to her in New Zealand.

Stuff understands she has had two applications for an MIQ space under the emergency allocation process declined, and a third is under consideration.

An MIQ “decision-maker” was unable to provide a time frame for a decision on her third application.

        Good grief,

Mahoney spent four years saving the $70,000 needed for the surgery and trip. She has no money left to spend on health care in the US.

she self funded the trip and surgery. Be kind, be gentle. Yeah, right Tui.

A good friend suffered for over a decade with various NZ surgeons and ACC, before finding out about this surgeon in support forums online. Women from N Z and Australia made block bookings and then rented a house and nurse for post op care.

My friend’s surgery gave her a life back, pain-free after NZ health professionals insisted it was ‘all in the mind’. The fact that we haven't sent surgeons to this surgeon to learn how to clean up the harm caused by the use of this mesh is abysmal.

I hope she is given a space in MIQ asap.

Sounds like a high priority category needs to be established as the emergency category is not up to standard.

Shocking for Glenys. Poor women. What is wrong with these people.
