Anne posted a link to an RNZ interview with Luxon on OM today.

The voice starting at 31 seconds makes me think that Tom Sainsbury will have a wonderful 3 years entertaining us with his impressions of this guy.

    Good Lord!

Do you think that Peters has just forgotten? Or delusional? Or desperate to disassociate himself from Ardern? Or just profile raising/ mischief making?

He's making totally inaccurate claims aka lies.

“We waited until today to find out, for the first time, that the Prime Minister’s Office received information about the March 15 terrorist attack before the massacre took place,” Peters claimed in his post on X.

“Jacinda Ardern should be called to the hearing and asked to explain this appalling lack of transparency to the New Zealand public – let alone to the Deputy Prime Minister and government coalition partner.

Whereas the truth, witnessed and documented by a range of sources, is:

However, on March 16, 2019, just a day after the attack which killed 51 people, Ardern confirmed in a press conference – reported globally – that her office had received the information in a generic inbox for the prime minister.

    Specifics:

The parliamentary staffer, whose name is suppressed, told the inquest today that they told police the email outlined an “attack on Christchurch”, threatened the use of firearms and explosive devices – and named three particular mosques.

He said he was contacted by a colleague on March 15, 2019, after the manifesto landed in a generic inbox for Ardern.

The colleague was worried about the contents of the email – which was also sent to about 70 other recipients including then National leader Simon Bridges, other political figures and media at 1.33pm.

After looking over the email – at 1.39pm – the staffer was equally concerned and called 111.

If it was sent to Bridges, I bet my bottom dollar that it was also sent to Peters.

      He conveniently forgot.

I remember Ardern saying something to the effect an email was received only minutes before he entered the mosque and started shooting.

Imagine going into government with a blatant liar!!

Maybe he's contacted Jacinda derangement syndrome, or is doing his bit to appeal to those who have it, many of whom would have voted for national, act or nz first. Maybe the more respect he has from the rabidly anti jacinda people, the more power he has in the new national party led government.

Poor Winnie. The end is nigh.Politically speaking. Nothing makes him relevant anymore. A perfect Coalition partner for Luxon. I really think that the reason he won’t speak to media is because he actually has nothing to say. Nothing to give them. He should bow out gracefully while he still has a bit of credibility left.
Attacking Jacinda with a blatant lie does him no favours at all. She should sue him for slander imo.

    So sad. What next?
