The server will be getting hardware changes this evening starting at 10pm NZDT.
The site will be off line for some hours.
Flooding in Kumeu and Henderson. Very heavy rain and homes inundated. Poor Families.
And in Albany and low-lying parts of the North Shore.
Just drove through 4 significant flood patches (4 inches or more of water) to get home.
Doesn't sound like much – but my commute is across the top of the ridgeline – so usually the water is running downhill and away from the road. It looks as though the rain volume is just too heavy for the stormwater conduits to cope with – and they're backing up.
Hope everyone under the deluge is staying safe (and, hopefully, dry)

Anything from the north and north east is very damaging at the top of the north island. It'll be interesting to see where most of the flooding has occurred.
These events happen, it's only when you put people and houses in the way that it becomes a problem.
More food for thought on the growth at all costs model we seem to enjoy subscribing to.

We are in the lee of an Auckland volcano, protected from the north-easterly. Very wet but otherwise unharmed.
I put a post up https://thestandard.org.nz/take-care-auckland-and-northland
Don't bother posting any real experience though because everything has to go through the Musk filter.
Oxymoron
