A most untimely death, given the current state of affairs vis-a-vis the tangata whenua and Te Tiriti.

The US Army defended an Arlington National Cemetery employee who was pushed aside during a visit by former president Donald Trump, saying that she acted professionally and was being unfairly attacked.

She was actually trying to prevent Trump and his creeps from dishonouring all the other vets (her job !)…so according to one of Trumps thugs….questioned her mental health ?!

Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung had said: "The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump's team during a very solemn ceremony."

On that day Trump, the Republican candidate in the 5 November presidential election, visited the cemetery and took part in a wreath-laying ceremony honoring the 13 servicemembers killed during the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.

He also visited Section 60 of the cemetery, where troops are buried and which is considered hallowed ground in the military.

Federal law and Pentagon policies do not allow political activities in that section of the cemetery, but videos were taken by Trump's campaign and used in advertisements.

"An ANC (Arlington National Cemetery) employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside," the Army statement said.

"This incident was unfortunate, and it is also unfortunate that the ANC employee and her professionalism has been unfairly attacked," it added.

If you wanted to know which way right wing blogger David Farrar and Juliet Moses from the NZ Jewish Council would swing on the upcoming visit by the antisemitic Candace Owens, they have, unsurprisingly perhaps, prioritised blind conservatism over cultural solidarity.

Placing individual political opportunity over empathetic collective action is so on point for these clowns.

Candace Owens is an ultra-conservative American black woman and Trump supporter. People like her are highly prized assets for right wing institutions because they provide agency and example of how they think minorities should operate, that is to abandon or minimise heritage in favour of profit-seeking Western neoliberalism. They lend legitimacy to the message brown people should act more white in order to succeed. See our own Tama Potaka and James Meager.

So far so good, but recently Owens has amplified, among other controversies, holocaust-denying Jewish conspiracy theories, presumably because she thinks she'll profit from it.

It's here where Farrar and Moses had a choice to either do what they do with any other actor who they disagree with (actively campaign against them), or tacitly endorse them (by simply 'agreeing to disagree'). Predictably, they chose the latter because for them, political blood is even thicker than any form of common interest.

Heaven forbid Farrar and Moses might consider direct action against a commercial troll who denies the existence of their people!

God, this week was particularly bad for us.

Anderson and Hipkins , plus Parker, what are you thinking?

    Unbelievable.

Oh, you're a leftie, are you? If so, welcome.

Anderson makes the same or fewer mistakes that the current minister, mercenary Mitchell. Perhaps a bar too low.

Not sure what Hipkins did or did not do to enrage you so much, but I agree, he's not talismanic or even mildly exciting in any way.

Parker is doing Parker. Consistent in his beliefs, and biggest hero of the lot, just needs the support of others, not you obviously.
