Here for Helen 2

Helen Kelly has stepped down from the Council of Trade Unions.

She’s helped thousands over workers over the last eight years as President.

(The Hobbit dispute, CMP lockout, Auckland port dispute, Talley’s Affco lockout, Pike River, the forestry health and safety campaign etc etc etc.)

Here’s a simple way you can celebrate her work.

  1. Get a cellphone with a camera.
  2. Write a short personal message on an A4 piece of paper.
  3. Get someone to take a photo of you holding the paper with your face in the shot.
  4. Post it to facebook at https://www.facebook.com/hereforhelen/ or on twitter with the hashtag #hereforHelen

What to write:

  1. When was Helen there for you?
  2. Write something about Helen.
  3. Include your name.
  4. Write “#HereForHelen”.

Don’t forget the hashtag. It will tie all the photos together.

Thanks for your support. It means a lot.

Am without smart phone or facebook but this is my my message to you Helen

You have been there for ALL workers, all of the time, during your time at the CTU. When you fight against this governments anti worker legislation, when you stand up against against sloppy H&S practices, when you stand up against zero hours, when you stand up against insecure hours, when you expose the lies and duplicity of our government you do it for all of us and I love you for that! You are rock solid and unwavering and I love you for that too 🙂

All are uplifted and supported by the work yourself, the CTU and all affiliates do, the non union workers and the unemployed (thats me) too. All of us are impacted by your actions.

    Kia Kaha Helen!

    Arohanui,

    Rosie.

When there is little to trust in, in New Zealand these days, I’ve always trusted your actions, Helen Kelly. Here for you.
