    If you have ever wondered how the Holocaust occurred, it started when Nazi propaganda depicted the Jewish people as sexual predators preying on white (read pure) Aryan women and girls. It is not enough to depict the targeted population as killers, they must be depicted as depraved killers.
    To depict many millions of innocent people as sub-human, isolated crimes of sexual perversion and rape were magnified and exaggerated.

    KKK lynching of black men was driven by the same sort of blanket lies and exaggerations.

      Hannah Arendt in the origins of totalitarianism (1951): "The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction (ie, the reality of experience) and the distinction between true and false (ie, the standards of thought) no longer exist."

      Her book 'underscores how alienation, rootlessness, and economic uncertainty can make people susceptible to the lies and conspiracy theories dispensed by tyrants [and]… how the weaponisation of bigotry and racism by demagogues fuels populist movements built upon tribal hatreds …shattering the very idea of a shared humanity' Ex Libris.

      As well as Jews, the Nazi regime dehumanised Roma, the disabled, and non-Aryan 'slave' races, sowing societal division. Much like ACT is doing with the Treaty and Māori, like Luxon is when he talks about 'bottom-feeders’. And like the Israeli state has been doing with the Gazan population for years.

      Scapegoating is a tried and true tactic. Create an enemy, misdirect the problems and complexities of unsettled life onto fellow humans who can be picked out as 'not one of us'. As manipulator, you remove yourself from any blame. Works a treat.

        Debriding Israeli propaganda

        To properly work propaganda must convince people that their enemies are sub-human monsters not human beings like themselves.

        …shattering the very idea of a shared humanity' Ex Libris.

        Thanks for the book recommendation.
        The purpose of shattering the idea of a shared humanity, is to incite human beings to kill other human beings. To condemn your enemies as killers when you inciting killing, is not enough, you must condemn them of being worse killers than you. Which is why the Israelis instead of condemning the war crimes Hamas did commit on October 7 Israel and their allies falsely condemned Hamas of crimes they didn't commit. Accusations of mass rapes, and baby beheadings, all provenly false, but necessary to justify inciteme indiscriminate mass bombings, torture, starvation, field executions, assassinations of peace negotiators on their side and other war crimes by 'our side'.

    New nurses not being offered hospital jobs (and others leaving for Oz) is coinciding with a lack of access for many to primary health care.

    While the latter is related to the way they are funded (system design overhaul time), there is also the aging of the workforce issue.

    The quickest domestic resolution is to better utilise more experienced nurses and train more nurse practitioners for primary health care roles.

      I recently met a nurse practitioner that was being paid $100 per hpur to do screen consults to a northland town from whanganui, must be funded from somewhere

        Sure, one of the purposes of the move to centralisation was to reduce post code access. To send staff where they were required.

          Yeah cause people really want to travel from Waikato hospital to places like Taumarunui and we really want to pay good salaries for lots of travel time that adds little to improving patient care.

          Part of what we need to come to grips with is that populations are also aging faster in rural areas that urban – Auckland with its young immigrants in particular – and they we may need to increase services in rural areas for the next 30 – 40 years.

    Extermination

    'Despair as a work plan'

    @0:26 minutes:

    ……the Israeli State and much of society is in the grip of genocidal mania, believes that Palestinians collectively are a problem. As far as they're concerned their very existence a problem….

    …..the words themselves are reminiscent of the sorts of words which have always accompanied the worst atrocities committed in human history…..

    'Complementarity'

    @6:57 minutes:

    ……an Israeli Doctor who treated the Palestinian detainee, which sparked all of this, said the Israeli leaders should kill themselves like the Nazi leaders did.

    ….he also said, if they maintain a hospital only for the sake of defending ourselves at the International Criminal Court at the Hague, "that's no good".

    That's important what he's saying here. The point here, is the ICC's mandate is based on what's called 'complimentarity'. It [the ICC] will only intervene and issue arrest warrants if it believes,@ the judicial system of the country in question, won't have its own credible investigations…..

    @8:36 minutes:

    ….blowing up water supplies to civilians, I think that more than qualifies as some of the worst atrocities it's possible to be committed against human beings. That's what we're witnessing. Backed and legitimized by [our] governments. It's a really important point – this has all been directly facilitated by these people, by our governments, our rulers. Never let them off the hook, the blood is on their hands as well….

    Sorry, Putin runs Russia as an authoritarian state, while the US is an oligarchy with a sprinkle of democracy. Where is the socialism in Russia today? Looks like a standard capitalist setup now. Politically I support centralist planning and socialist states with democratic processes.
