The site will be off line for some hours.
The photo accompanying this piece would make a great candidate for a caption contest. Just saying 🙂

Peter Thiel Update
I rarely pass by here these days, but thought some here might be interested in this March 3 article.

I commented on the Thiel posts a few months ago* when it was revealed that he had been given NZ citizenship some years ago. My concern re Thiel was his connections to Palantir with its connections to the Five Eyes spy network, the GCBS etc. – and to US regulatory authorities ($B worth of contracts).

There are also links to several other interesting recent articles on Thiel at the end of the Intercept article.
*Shock – It was only at the end of Jan! Feels like a year ago. The Trump effect.
Clair Trevett’s article in the Herald is very good today for the first two thirds….then she remembers who she supports and goes off track a bit…still worth a read

I must say that the media has been much more positive about Labour and Andrew Little this year than previous years when they were roasting them with no provocation.
Anybody having difficulty accessing The Standard? It took about 4 minutes to change from Home Page to Open Mike here. We aren’t on fast whatever yet. Does that such a difference. I wouldn’t have thought it would be that much though.
“…So, Andrew Little has landed himself a show pony in Jacinda Ardern…”
That’s right Fran, She’s prettier and younger than you. No one was going to mention it, but since you brought it up you nasty old battleaxe, let’s be having it!
