Opportunity knocks.
Labour must
1. work to achieve the highest possible party vote and
2. also to connects its candidates and policies with people and communities around NZ.
Labour must go after those Green supporters who might be looking for a new home.
Too often I’ve seen Labour people giving way to the Greens in number of policy areas from Transport to the Environment and latterly social policy. Many Labour people behave as if the Greens have first dibs on some areas.
I’ve seen Labour people collaborate with Greens while the same Greens eat Labour’s lunch.
Harden up. Maximise the party vote. Then and only then can the Labour caucus negotiate the coalition deal in parliament.

  i’m inclined to agree with Bill. In the past Labour has seemed to give way to the Greens on social policy. However they also need to go after that light blue vote the oscillates between Labour and National.
  
  On another tack, the woman from Federated Farmers on the Nation a week ago said that Winston was really campaigning aggressively in the provinces. If that vote starts to go to NZ First I can see National’s collapsing to well below 40.

I’m looking for a lawyer to help me sue the police I have tried 4 times my stores are on Sundays open Mike some of them I tried to contact Suzie who is managing the internet party Simon email me the police are covering there ass an contacted them an spun there lies and flashed there badge to stop me during sueing them they don’t expect a poor person to work out the justice system

  I advise you to go to your local Citizens Advice Bureau Eco maori. Most towns have one and there are several in the larger cities. They can advise you where you can go locally for assistance.
  
  There are lawyers out there who give of their legal services free one night each week – usually at a local community hall or somewhere like that. You have 15 minutes with them so you need to have your ‘facts and figures’ ready so they can make a prompt response. I used their service 20 years ago when I was a beneficiary. I can’t be sure if the service still exists but expect it does. Citizens Advice will know.

  I heard of something like this. Not sure if the police did it. It was such a rush their asthma medication didn’t go with them and whanau members were running around sorting out the mess. It also took a month for those whanau members who should have had the kids in the first place to get them back. Not good. One of the children changed from being a nice polite child at childcare to am angry swearing one.

  This has always been the case. I personally know of a few cases where this has been floated as an option, but fortunately sanity and cool heads prevailed.
  
  It really is a tough call to make about this.

Good to hear Sue Bradford’s support for the Greens on RNZ this morning.
It strikes me that anyone who supports the improvement of the poverty trap in this country will vote Green because no other party is interested. Labour certainly isn’t.
Full marks for the stand James and Metiria are taking and I ( as a middle class chardonnay socialist who has never been on the benefit nor had a baby) fully support them.
I’m very disappointed with Kennedy Graham and stupid Clendon, but shit happens and they are better out of it if they aren’t prepared to back Metiria.
Full steam ahead Greens.

Anyone hear Hooton on RNZ just before? The man was seething with indignance at the current GP goings-on.

As a PR shill he knows that people will accept any amount of atrocity – such as his actions in Dirty Politics and Hollow Men – as long as the perp doesn’t admit it. Look at Key, English, Bennett, Joyce. Met’s crime was to admit what she did, and people (thru the media) latch on to that false righteousness.

Meanwhile, what is happening to Blinglish’s midnight phone calls to his electorate lady – why isn’t this making big headlines and why is it only Winnie who is keeping on about it. Why are our so called journalists not getting on to Blinglish and riding him relentlessly every day. Why isn’t Labour all over this on a daily basis as well like they should be – opposition are meant to be attack dogs, this is a thin edge of a wedge for National and Labour should be taking advantage of it.

The MSM and the Government are working their typical dirty politics with the Greens right now – wonder what Nicky thinks of all this. National at this rate will get their fourth term just as it has all been planned in he first place. Listening to RNZ and the AM Show was a waste of time and it was turned off in this household this morning.

Somebody once said on this site or Bomber’s – that the Government could kill kittens on air and still get away with it. Its heartbreaking how low the electorate has become to accept this Government’s corruption term after term. Makes Helen’s lightbulbs seem like party joke in comparison. As for Metiria there would be few people on a benefit today who have “not deliberately misled WINZ” – as was said by another MP just the other day.

Another perspective on the Graham/Clendon story comes from newsroom.

Green Party general manager Sarah Helm said both Clendon and Graham had been asked to consider not standing at this year’s election, and ended up with a list ranking “neither of them were particularly happy about” – Graham was eighth, and Clendon 16th.

Boy left alone, after-hours, in Ministry for Vulnerable Children office

Social workers in the office forgot about a small boy and left him there after hours. It appears from the herald story that there is chronic underfunding and overwork of social workers for our most vulnerable.

It seems to me that this is another aspect of what Turei is standing up for, not only are we not giving our most vulnerable enough to live on, we are not empowering the people who are meant to look after them, nor are we ensuring that there is enough resources to help in a meaningful way. How long until another child is forgotten? How long until something worse happens?

The Pentagon is considering a plan that allows the U.S. military to conduct airstrikes on ISIS in the Philippines, two defense officials told NBC News.

The authority to strike ISIS targets as part of collective self-defense could be granted as part of an official military operation that may be named as early as Tuesday, said the officials. The strikes would likely be conducted by armed drones.

I see in the NZ Herald a story of yet another paid for attack on someone carried out on the Whale Oil attack blog. The attack was set up by PR merchant Carrick Graham.
You have the money and they will smear anyone on that blog for you no matter if they are innocent or not of the alligations. A number of people must have been getting a payday from that.

On Trump the rats are all fleeing the sinking ship thanks for the advice Anne but people don’t let my spelling and Gramm set ones conclusions on my intelligence while I was being followed around Tauranga mowing my lawns I remembered what one of the lawyers told me he would do so I tried to send a request to the justice department for all the data they hold on me got spammed 3 time’s so I sent a hard copy to Wellington justice department in a tracked courier bag now we will see how this system will comply with the law this will be the evidence I need to sue the nz police for there breaches of my rights I will post my progress on my case
