  1. I would like to take the opportunity given here to put forward some questions that have been bugging me for a long time and which I would like for the political journo’s to ask of John Key.

1/ As we watch our financial system collapse and the role of Derivatives becomes much clearer, how does John Key feel about having been a major player in the promotion of these fraudulent financial products while he was the head of the European bonds and Derivatives department for Merrill Lynch?

2/ Why are we borrowing $ 250 million a week from international banks who print their money out of thin air and which we have to pay back with interest?

3/ What is his relation to Robert Champion de Crespigny, AC, chairman of the board of Cosby and Textor?

4/ What is his relation to CIS which has on its board the aforementioned de Crespigny, a who is who of the mining and banking world and wouldn’t you know the honorable Mrs Ruth Richardson?

I have a lot more questions but I only can put in so many links but perhaps some journo (I won’t hold my breath) will visit my site and dig up my “questions for John Key” page.

    • Robin 1.1

      BATMAN ?

      • travellerev 1.1.1

Robert de Crespigny is the Chairman of the board of Cosby and Textor, you Moron, and as such part of John Key’s PR team. He is also part of the Centre for International Studies. A neo con think tank in Sidney with a New Zealand business chapter.

The board reads like a who’s who of the banking and mining world and we have just been told that international mining companies are scouring our National parks for loot.

Don’t you think that we ought to know who John Key’s hanging out with and what kind of conflicts of interest our Prime Minister might have what with his $ 50 million fortune all invested in interesting shares in interesting Corporations.

      • travellerev 1.1.2

        Oh, and another interesting connection.

On the board of CIS is another interesting character called Sir Rod Eddington who just happens to be a non executive… oh what the fuck I’ll just give you the whole blurb:

Sir Rod Eddington was Chief Executive of British Airways from 2000-2005. Prior to this he was Managing Director and CEO of Cathay Pacific Airways from 1992-1996 and Executive Chairman of Ansett Airlines from 1997-2000. He is currently non-executive Chairman (Aust & NZ) of JPMorgan, in addition to maintaining non-executive director roles with News Corporation, Rio Tinto, Allco Finance Group Limited, CLP (China Light & Power) Holdings, and John Swire & Sons Pty Ltd. He also serves as Chairman of Victorian Major Events Company.

JPMorgan just happened to open a branch in New Zealand on the 1th of October 2007. A year before John Key was elected.

At the time they stated that they would not provide main street (You and me) with capital but only big business ventures. I guess they knew something we didn’t.

    • In regard to number 2, if they are actually straight printing the money, then its better that they are devaluing their own currency not ours?

    • So Bored 1.3

On question number two….what if the thin air dollars became seen as the Emperors new clothes that they are? Its US dollars we are talking, and there is a very real possibility of collapse or hyper inflation with that currency. We could then pay back the whole lot with a couple of NZ pesos…..

  2. Herodotus 3

I see Northpower has made some workers redundant, the reason?
“Ms Harrison said the main reason for the Northpower redundancies was the downturn in new subdivisions. “For the last six months we’ve been working very hard to avoid redundancies,” she said.”
Then why have they got unstarted work on their books that is delaying the commencement of developments?

  3. toad 4

So Nick “Sewer-side” Smith has been caught out being economical with the truth yet again.

  4. Walter 5

Did you see the charming Mayor Laws delighting over ‘sticking it to the Maoris’ once again on the new last night?

He was exhibiting an erection outside the council offices.(a new statue of Balance)

    He’s all class that guy…….

    • Hopefully plans are already under way, security would be to heavy at the moment though.

Can you imagine Mr laws ringing up the security company “uhh hi, I need a security guard to look after my statue, they must be white, preferably a white supremacist…”

    • So Bored 5.2

So now there is some balance in Whanganuis politics? Could have fooled me.

  5. BLiP 6

Nominations for the Roger Award for the Worst Transnational Corporation Operating in New Zealand close on 31 October 2009.

“No prizes for guessing who the awards are named after”.

There’s plenty of contenders for this year’s award so get those entries rolling in. Last year’s winner was Associate Health Minister Johnathon Coleman’s host British and American Tobacco. which finally won the award afterning being a finalist every year of the award to date.

  6. Jasper 7

Why is George Gould, the man responsible for the collapse of a couple of finance companies (nathans) and (Vestar) now a director of a frakkin airport???

  7. gingercrush 8

I know there are a number of Green voters that come to this blog. So what do you lot think of Metira Turei? I was reminded today during Question Time with her display of arrogance and self-importance that to me she doesn’t look or act like a leader.

Are Turei and Norman really the two co-leaders that identify with Green issues and can lead your party to future and continuing success? Since she Turei has become a co-leader of the Greens, do you feel more confidence in he direction the Greens are going?

    • The Voice of Reason 8.1

“I was reminded today during Question Time with her display of arrogance and self-importance that to me she doesn’t look or act like a leader.”

Perhaps she’s modelling herself on Bill English, Ginge?

But, I actually do agree with you. I’ve seen her on the telly a couple of times and I wasn’t impressed. One lengthy interview (Q+A, from memory) that I switched over to after it had started left me so confused as to where she was coming from that I thought she was a newbie Nat MP.

The Greens have made a deliberate choice to move to the centre by knocking Sue Bradford back. The tricky bit will be stopping there and not carrying on ever rightward in a similar way to the Maori Party. The shame of it is that there is a need to consolidate a platform of left politics as a clear alternative to the right. If Goff can’t do it, who better than the Greens?

      • Outofbed 8.1.1

“The Greens have made a deliberate choice to move to the centre by knocking Sue Bradford back”
        Err no they haven’t

Last week it was attacking Russel now its Met
What is it with you Guys?
The old 1999 intake of Mp’s are retiring and there is new blood in the Green Party All parties go through this process , but the difference with the Greens is the kaupapa remains the same.

If I may remind you that Kaupapa means principles and ideas which act as a base or foundation for action. A kaupapa is a set of values, principles and plans which people have agreed on as a foundation for their actions
The Greens Kaupapa remains the same… with or without Rod ,with or without Nandor ,with or without Sue and with or without Russel or Met
