The current rise of populism challenges the way we think about people’s relationship to the economy. We seem to be entering an era of populism, in which leadership in a democracy is based on preferences of the population which do not seem entirely rational nor serving their longer interests. ...

The site will be off line for some hours.
The idea is right but – god I’m tired of Borat.
Is there a market for some decent advertising advice to orgs like CTU?
Not commenting on the CTU per se as I’ve never had anything to do with them, but in a broad sense I’ve noticed an increase lately in the trend that’s always been evident of organisations in the political sphere (including parties themselves) valuing perceived loyalty over competence.
In other words, they hire, and take advice from, toadys who profess the same beliefs (and are often former staffers) in preference to those with more competence.
If other factoes (especially competence) are equal, then better to hire someone who’s skeptical of your message. They’ll first have to go through the process of tackling their own doubts, prejudices etc., so what they come up with will be good enough to convince themselves, and thus others.
This effort, on the other hand, is just embarrassing.
The sad fact is the cuts are already hurting – big time!
They are short sighted. mindless cut backs, arbitarily given, that in the majority of cases – concussion injuries being one example – that will ultimately lead either to inadequate or incomplete recovery and in some cases potentially fatal consequences. These cut backs are being driven purely on flimsy financial premises and are a disgrace.
Not very impressed with taking the piss out of the real workers. I would rather see, for example, an overpaid, misanthropic, gibbering, chinless wonder of a suit walk off a stage and break his arm on Chinese New Year. Now, *that* would be funny.
Nice work, and funny too. It’s good to see the unions reaching out to the sevens-going demographic for a change rather than the same old middle-aged lefty crowd.
great, so my sevens enjoyment will be overlaid with some union crap. what a buzzkill.
These ads are truly f*cking awful.
If you were going to the sevens, you would expect an educative approach – the majority don’t know and don’t care, so you need to explain and justify the issues. Instead this is cheap rip off comedy, horrible music, and a message that will only appeal to the already informed and already decided.
FAIL.
