It was remiss of me not to post on this last week.
June 4 marked the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre.
Pictured above is “Tank Man” – an unidentified protester who briefly halted the progress of the Chinese tanks on June 5 1989.

Ya know, there was a time when if you posted that on a Labour-leaning site, many would come back that the guy was a wrecker and hater, jaywalking in front of Beijings many excellent public buses.

Frontline is consistently good. It would be nice if a NZ television station was interested in screening it (or any other credible documentary series) instead of yet another season of New Zealand’s Next-Police-Animal-Renovation show.
I’ve always thought that there were at least 2 brave men involved in this: the guy with the shopping bags standing in front of the tank and the guy driving/commanding the tank who refused to run him down. What happened to him?
