Copyright Laws as they stand are ridiculous, even in countries like the US parody falls under Fair Use.

Most copyrights originally were 20 years from publication IIRC for books and music. Now it’s life plus 50. What’s fair about that? Copyright laws were created originally to correct the balance of public good and the artists getting reparations for their work. Now it’s gone too far, and it’s record labels getting the money while ripping the artist off.
