Zombies. Just been reading an explanation of West Indian claims re zombies, by Diana Gabaldon who researched Wade Davis:
“Afile powder is given to the victim. (Contains the liver of the fugu fish a bit like a puffer fish.) The victim drops and appears to be dead but is not. The victim is buried on top of another corpse and lightly covered with soil so that they can still breathe. When the victim now a zombie crawls out of the grave he believes himself to be a very smelly dead thing but is bereft of thought or will and has a nervous system so damaged that their walk is shuffling at best. When commanded the zombie carries out simple instructions.”
Superstition and fear give the shuffling zombies great negative influence.

Nice thought for our nightly perambulations?

Watching Bear Grylls last night crossing the Southern Alps.

He made one very serious mistake which could have landed him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He was clinging to a grey wet rock over a 25foot drop into a pool of indeterminate depth and he slipped and fell vertically. Lucky for him the water was deep enough to prevent injury. He needs to slow down and be more careful. 🙁 🙂
