  My theory is that time passes faster and faster because as you age memory of what you did yesterday or last week or last month fades more and more quickly, and the bits left seem closer and closer to each other. Like 52 cards in a pack but you forget more than half so the few left are closer and closer together.

        I’ve owned it from 1970 – The bike was originally sold new in Pretoria – ridden up thru Africa then around Europe – down thru Turkey, Afganistan, India (try doing that today!) then across to Perth – Over the Nullabore to Melbourne, and then to NZ. The guy who did that, had then had enough and sold it, and I bought it, and have had it ever since.

        I had an R80/7 a few years back. Along with an 850 Commando, it was my favourite out of all my bikes. I’m thinking about getting another Beemer when I come home for good. In the meantime, I’m up to walking 2 km a day!

    Yes, ’cause the country needs more middle aged men with big motorbikes recapturing their youth in casualty departments throughout the land. lol
    
    Less mind numbing than golf are video games, with the added bonus you don’t have to walk five hours in all weathers to get a game, there are beginner experience levels even beginners can do and you dress in normal clothes that don’t make you look like Rupert bear.
    Won’t get you a round with a president though, which is either a drawback or bonus, point of view depending.

Set in motion the Ultra Fast Broadband connection process- over 6 weeks ago. Vodafone stuffed up repeatedly in spite of cable connection at our gate. Not sure that I even want it now but the nice Chorus people are coming on Monday so will do it all.
Having the first pick of my lettuces for tea tonight. Much more satisfying.

    The fibre cable has been in a little green box at the gate all year. All they have to do is bring it to the house and connect.
    But the Vodafone communication by phone query is very very awful! Bad lines. Misimformation. Foreign accent.

      Try and get direct comms with the installer, vodafone are getting worse with their phillipines call centre and broken processes, it will be transfield, downer or visionstream on behalf of chorus depending where you are.
      
      If you dont hear from the installer its unlikely to be happening as they are flat out and tend to require direct end customer confirmation to not be wasting slots.

    Broad beans so early – that’s pretty good, weka. My so-called dwarf beans are looking extraordinarily leggy and not sprouting much in the way of a pod yet. I’m beginning to think they were wrongly labelled.
    But we do have fruitful blue-berry bushes laden – and we’ve managed to put the bird netting up in time before the birds find out about them !

was briefly watching best british bakery yesterday and a bakery from dunbar won the scottish section.

They run as a cooperative and were born in 2008 following the closing of the last baker in their high street.

The Outsider Art Fair in Auckland is a weekend long event in November that showcases the quality and creative diversity of artists that do their work, for whatever reason, outside of the mainstream and explores the term ‘Outsider Art’ in a New Zealand cultural context.

The Fair is loosely modelled on the concept established by the New York Outsider Art Fair, which has worked for the past 20 years at building awareness around the diverse community of artists with unique experience and practice. It has played a vital role in building a passionate collecting community and continues to grow on a global scale. Europe and the UK have a long history of art collection in this field.

Located in central Auckland, the Fair will promote the unique qualities of this art genre and stimulate awareness and dialogue through an main exhibition, pop up installations, performance programs, plus panel discussions. All open to the public.
