UPDATE: The “personal reasons” we know about so far:

He personally profited from his trip to India to discuss aviation training.

He personally visited the victim of an attack involving the son of a mate of his.

He’s been personally summonsed to give evidence in a defamation suit involving a gossip columnist.

    He showed his worth.

National will be the stronger for it.

Yes but did National handle it properly or is DPF right that they should have a proper reason for his resignation.

    Clever.

Isn’t “personal reasons” Tory-speak for either “I’m being investigated for fraud” or “I’ve cheated on my wife”?

At least Lee makes a lot less stuff-ups and puts her foot in her mouth a lot less often, and isn’t such an embarrasment to the NP.

She puts her foot in her mouth every time she’s on TV. She’s been filmed asking a man if he’s homless just because he’s not dressed smartly. Called students drunks who don’t follow the news. That weird thing about motorways and criminals who can’t use off ramps. The whole mess over supporting an above ground version of Waterview.

If that’s not an embarrassment, what is?

Worth, apparently (though I think that’s unfair). All relative y’see.

        His argument is:

National: not as embarrassing as we were.

        It’s not much I’ll grant ye…

  7. The government is now “Worth-less”.

    Bad news for Rodney Hide.

A useless Nat in Epsom was Hide’s (ACT’s) guarantee. Now the local Nats might want a real candidate. .

(at the next election, because Worth will be finished now)

Hmmmmm. Personal reasons? Being called as a witness in a libel case between Glucina and Saunders… Would a lawyer perhaps be asking about some potentially less than salubrious aspects of his social life whilst he was in the dock?

National MP Richard Worth quit as a minister because of a criminal matter, Prime Minister John Key confirmed this morning, saying if he had not resigned he would have been sacked.
