Well, National’s attacks on the welfare state seem to have been somewhat delayed but they’re certainly making up for lost time now.
“The attitude of National in Parliament is mere subterfuge. But it is too thin to deceive the electors of this country.”
Todays lot managed to pull it off. Having both sleepy and 800,000 missing-in-action hobbits is not a good mix.
The attacks on the welfare state by National is causing ever-increasing stress on people. The people living on a financial knife-edge are being tortured, meanwhile big business is getting a free lunch with extras.
And now the shoe is on the other foot.
National has made changes and Labour refuse to say what they will do about them.
They also refuse to say what they will do about their own changes they have made over the years to reduce the effectiveness of both welfare and job creation for the most disadvantaged in the private sector labour market.
The other foot unfortunately is made of clay and needs some steel inserted to prop it up.
From whence will this steel come?
