Link would have been nice đ (flippin handset, I can't paste one to this TS field) But looking at CB's tweet: I'm sure he's doing it to try to somehow undermine his transport options: "Oh look at CB, tried his best, but just can't cope without the govt limo...
Nice use of the interrabang - I didn't know we still had those! đđ Don't despair Rolls, the country needs the disabled and differently abled as much as we need anyone, no matter what those NACT arseholes say.
To their credit, RNZ did an amazing job finding the one presenter in NZ who is even more boring than Jim Mora.
I think I would too... he'd be expected to be (ulp) impartial...
Oh don't worry, I'm an old pessimist from waaaaay back. But if there was ever a need for optimism, it's now.
I mean small-g green, btw. I thought it might happen this time round, due to the ever-loudening warnings weâre getting on climate and other emergencies. That message could increase (though not from this sorry upcoming govt). Interesting trend forming ...
Hope lies in a couple of scenarios: ⢠NACT goes all Liz Truss and loses the electorate for years to come, trying to do things too quickly. Upheaval is too unpalatable. ⢠NACT+NZF is shambolic and impotent. Scandal after scandal. Bickering and vetoing gets ...
Because he would need NZF, right? And they'd ruled each other out. And maybe, it's an utterly poisoned chalice due to international factors, which could result in a one-term NACT govt? đ¤đ¤
Fairly sure Luxon and co have no idea what they are doing. I wonder if that's ever crossed his mind as being a problem.
+100 They are bad for democracy.
Schools too. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/israel-palestine-conflict-gaza-hamas-attack-b2431294.html
Thatâs a great way to look at it, I must admit Iâd been thinking along those lines too. Could we dare to hope for a one-termer? Certainly if they try to move too fast.
Good. Then when a proper climate govt comes in again, we can legislate them back to forests. The we don't have to buy out the farmers.
Knaves, not fools. They know their numbers don't work, now it doesn't matter. They've got the votes and to them, that gives them the mandate to do as they please.
They did some good work with the Nats as well around marriage equality, didn't they? Butts might go for stuff like that, NZF wouldn't.
I dunno, I seem to remember when Brash (was it?) wouldn't concede for ages, just made him look churlish, like Trump. It's a poisoned chalice - he's reminding lux that he has promised to form a govt with NZF. Good luck!
What exactly are your top policies you want to see gutted?
He's sounding really statesman-like and trustworthy. Compare him to when Lux makes his speech, Lux will sound empty and dodgy. I remember similar when Key won.
How about if Labour were able to go more left with their social policies and loudly spruik those. Hard out modern socialist, with environmental in the background. Then the Greens could have similar social policies, but they wouldn't need to shout about ...
Wow, I wish you'd double ticked ACT! đ
Funny, I was feeling pretty optimistic until I saw the weather today. Someone said Tories pray for rain, and do it did âšď¸
Phew, well done for reading through all that lot, Dennis. I couldn't make it. At least he's now got his eccentric punctuation use under control.
Jeez, Luxon is a condescending twit. He's trying to be 'statesman-like' but has neither the charm but the authority with his non-answers. Chippy is attacking well, and audience seems to love it. Even though his interruptions make it hard to hear Luxon ...
Same. It sounds more like something his non-supporters would say đ
That dinosaur bit at the end was a bit weird... I heard Luxon say "Oh God", which is a bit blasphemous.
That's a fascinating bit from the Guardian poll. Without NZF, the left is ahead! This is by no means over, don't let yourselves be fooled that it is! â
It's hard to see that he's baiting the whole population, rather than a critical mass (of +/-5%) that will return him to parl. Now he's all for immigration, but against "mandates". Do people actually trust him or are they just holding their noses and hoping...
Chch Press debate: GP and MÄori are getting massive applauses, more so than ACT and way more than NZF. Seymour is wasted, he's wither hungover, crook or simply exhausted. He and Winston are singing the same tune đąđą
They've been telling citizens to leave, but sealed all the exits and are firing from the sea. Hearing the correspondent on Checkpoint was harrowing.
It seems the medias ATM are doing a surprisingly ok job of separating the monstrous Hamas from the citizens of Palestine, who do deserve our compassion. And also criticizing Netenyahu's response. I hoped it wouldn't just be wall to wall 'righteous Israel' ...
It's a good point. If, God forbid, it were to be a "no suspicious circumstances", that would be pertinent to parties' stances on mental health funding. If long/short illness, stances on cancer funding.
