The report I heard said eight people, identified by the Salvation Army and MSD, were approached by them knocking on the car windows. And all eight said they didn’t want or need help. But there was nothing said about either agency verifying that the eight approached were indeed homeless and living in their cars.

City Mission homeless community team leader Wilf Holt said one official from the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) came to the mission at dinner time last night, accompanied by a security guard, and met eight homeless people.
“They did four housing assessments. The other four were people who were saying, ‘Am I registered?’ They had already had their assessments done,” he said.
“The same worker that came last night comes to us every Wednesday and has done for the better part of this year to do pretty much that anyway.”

Te Puea Marae has reported in the last two nights that they have taken food parcels to people sleeping in cars. There were 30 cars parked up in Bruce Pulman park. The marae volunteers reported that many are in work, but just don’t earn enough to afford rentals, and children leave each day from these cars to go to school. This is what John Key doesn’t get. The Salvos and MSD knocking on their windows “offering help” – To increase their incomes? Provide affordable housing? Plunge them into debt? Any wonder they turn it down.

Waikato slaughterman pleads guilty to bobby calves mistreatment
Noel Erickson has appeared this morning in the Huntly District Court to the charges laid by the Ministry for Primary Industries.
The 38-year-old was charged with recklessly ill treating, willfully ill treating and killing bobby calves during a two-day period in August 2015.
Animal welfare group SAFE set up a hidden camera operation to highlight the situation in the industry before releasing the video publicly.

The herald is running a story where a pre-1970’s former state house is Lead poisoned/contaminated …….. but according to the Herald this old house with it’s undoubted lead paint could have gotten its toxic lead contamination from P .
“A house in Auckland with no walls and high levels of lead possibly from P contamination has sold for over $1 million.” ………. A normal person might think the lead contamination came from the lead paint and old dust ( from when lead was in petrol ).
Another strange part of the story was the house was decontaminated for P ……. but this expensive cleaning/decontamination still left the house with dangerous toxic lead levels ….. Or ineffective scam decontamination leaving poisons on site to put it another way.

Then Housing corp sold this toxic lead contaminated house onto the open market so people could let their kids and pets ingest poison.
