The PM's speech this year using much from his speech last year! Good grief, was his speechwriter lazy, or incompetent. Not a good look. Luxon's days in his dream job seem to be rather fraught.
He's running a "company"….remember, what else can be expected other than corporate speak, platitudes and anything else to get the deal done.
Christopher Luxon is sadly lacking in any Prime Ministerial attributes….and by a long stretch.
All he needed to do was preface the recycled bit with: "As I said last year, and I still believe this to be true, …" Then round it off by saying how we must work to make sure it stays true always. Something like that would have given it a little bit of grace and gravity. He either has a poor speechwriter or is a just a graceless goofball.
His speech was a panacea.
Or soporific.
