    the tories must be pissed..

they can no longer moan about the gummint 'doing nothing' about gangs/crime..

    what have they got left..?

not sure what the "tories" have left, but i think striking nurses are gonna keep us entertained for a few days.

'Tories' is that a class by birth or by income or status? If it is income and status, all of government, every single critter in Parliament with a MP and PM to their name is a Tory. Just some are a more 'woke' then others.

        tory = conservative = the national party…

and there are rich tories and poor tories..

it is a mindset..(born to rule a key component..)

and the Natty's hate being called tories..

which is all the more reason to call them that..

and re nurses..kinda rich of whats-her-name to moan about labour/nurses pay…when in 2019 labour gave them a large catch-up pay-rise..

in part to make up for the tories giving nurses s.f.a…for so long…

so kinda ballsy for what's-her-name to even mention the subject of pay for nurses..

and yes..the neoliberal incrementalism of this labour gummint..

does earn them the label of tory-lite..

Your life must be utterly boring if you consider the striking nurses as entertaining.

    • From the link you supplied.

…Even with a tertiary subsidy, many are paying close to $10 per day for a return trip – an outrageous cost which only compounds problems for those who are materially disadvantaged. Government-backed free or flat-rate public transport for all tertiary students, commonplace in parts of Europe and North America, would help level the playing field.

I would go further and say that the cost of public transport is too high for high school students and primary school students as well.

That this cost is borne by their parents helps to explain the large number of parents who drive their children to school. Something which adds to rush hour congestion.

(Anyone who commutes or drives for a living can tell you the noticable lessening in rush hour congestion during school holidays)

All students should have free public transport. Not only would it benefit the students and their families it would benefit the rest of us by lessening rush hour congestion.

For those who still have an open mind about the origin of Covid-19 the following is an easy-to-follow article.
