My company today put out a "discussion document" on vaccination, and the effect is almost 100% no vax no job by Feb.

IMHO they should have done it faster, but they are mirroring the state largely.

    A palindromic day tomorrow, FWIW.

For what it's worth, frankly? fancifully? forthrightly? I raise a glass to your palindromic pleasantry, In Vino Felicitas?

Oh boy! Another reason for those angry Americans to be pissed off with us mac1.

Bemused by why Americans might be angry with us, I googled 12/11 and it came up with Hebrews 12:11. Rather apt for our Covid times and behaviour, I thought.

Nah, cop just had nothing better to do at the time I bet.

On the positive side, I've been double-jabbed for more than two months & the Men In Black still haven't come knocking on my front door. Or back door. Or basement door. In fact, the buggers haven't been here at all I reckon!

So I suspect that the nanobots in my bloodstream reporting all my thoughts to global NWO headquarters must have scrambled the computer which would have been trying to categorise them. Sorry about that folks! I just can't seem to help it…

It's a nice enough place, although I must confess my main experiences have been as a lunch stop on the way between Christchurch and Tekapo or Queenstown.

So, having not followed protocols he gets a friendly visit. Now he says he won't go to the local pharmacy, presumably for being dobbed in by the owner. I wonder what his reaction was to the reminder to wear a mask as he left? Sounds like there is more to it than he is telling; reading between the lines, and considering what the police have said they will now do to reduce abuse of shop staff by customers, I'd guess he could be better mannered, more mindful and less prone to taking umbrage.

You beat me to it PR…the old bugger should count himself lucky he wasn't given a good kneecapping. Or a bit of a roughing up. Or the stocks. With rotten produce.

FFS One normally associates this type of authoritarian overreach with low IQ or some sense of inadequacy in other areas.

I am of the opinion that some in our communities have waited all their lives for such a time to shine.

Yes there does seem to have been an increase in those curtain pullers just itching for the chance to dob someone in, a little bit of power and it goes strait to their heads

        • weka 3.3.1.1

it's also possible he was a dick when asked to put the mask on and that's why the pharmacy talked to the police.

          https://www.stuff.co.nz/timaru-herald/news/126991955/geraldine-pharmacy-report-says-staff-left-shaken-by-interaction-with-man-over-mask-rules

The Geraldine pharmacy staff give their version of events. The staff say it happened before with him.

Of course, the man denies it.

It should be remembered that pharmacy staff are trained, medically savvy and at risk of infection because of the nature of their business- dispensing medication to the sick.

Instead of being slagged as curtain pullers and overly authoritarian, they could be recognised as performing one of the seven corporal acts of mercy.

I'm just glad I added this:

(Probably more to the story but even so…)

as an out before I posted wink

            • mac1 3.3.1.2.1.1

Thinking about your work, PR, and the many men who you meet with their 'outs', be they physical at the end of sentence, or outs as justifications for actions; you must have some good opportunities for practising at least one of the corporal acts of mercy: to feed the hungry, to give drink to the thirsty, to clothe the naked, to give shelter to travellers, to visit the sick, to visit the imprisoned, and to bury the dead.

              • Puckish Rogue

Sorry I don't get what you're trying to say

                • mac1

                  Sorry for late reply-been gardening.

I guess I was musing over your word 'out' as a recognition of the possibility of another and unknown story, which by the way I did note in your original comment at #3.

Out also is the opposite of being 'in jail'. An 'out' is also a justification or excuse for behaviour.

I then thought of you as a corrections officer and having referred to the seven corporal works of mercy as practised by pharmacy staff dealing with the sick, the sixth corporal work of mercy, visiting the imprisoned, came to mind.

I was then saying that as a corrections officer you would have hopefully have opportunities to deal positively with inmates.

In the Nineties I used to facilitate workshops in prisons and those experiences have stayed with me for over two decades in a positive way. I often still think of the men I met and whose stories I heard.

Hope that explains things a bit better. 🙂
