Quite the tale about Rupert Murdoch, the exes, the fam, and the faux news empire. Lachlan is an arsehole, James is okay for a rich guy and poor old Rupert's circling the plug hole.
Thanks for that Weka. The language alone of the ads was enough to make me suspicious as 'little women' (helpless) needs our help.
I thought they were linked to Destiny or a fundamentalist type like the Julian Batchelor person touring round NZ who is anti co governance, by the wording .
Though I could do without Max Tweedie's ramblings…..so he had no problems organising against the mostly older women demographic in Let Women Speak. Hypocrite.
I was ambivalent about it, thinking it was more connected with the freedom movements and centrist counter culture. But have seen enough evidence tonight to urge women to stay away and don’t share their promos.
Tweedie is indeed a hypocrite and ideologically blind. Thing is, if they really wanted to effect change there would be less blocking, and less ostracisation of people not yet radicalised. Too many own goals.
I had to laugh when Max Tweedie was replying to Kim Hill (RNZ) interview a day before Posie Parker was to speak in Auckland, (when asked about trans women in female sports) "don't know, you would have to ask a biological scientist" When does biology matter.
'I cannot emphasise enough: do protest these. “They intend to carry out vigilante-ist direct allow women to speak on women's rights & issues that we see, for some reason, as speaking action against trans people on public spaces.”
/Sarc
While I don't support the Stand by your Women protest hopefully they will be able to demonstrate and have some fluent speakers with the clear message about womens rights and issues. Though I guess or am hopeful many may have seen the trans anti women message after seeing the violence on 25/3.
I think you are seriously missing what is happening here. Far right men are either part of the group that is organising the Stand By Your Woman events, or they are coopting them, and they want a physical confrontation with gender activists, LGBT, and leftists. Because they hate them and because violence and destabilisation is part of their political agenda. It's likely also about recruiting men to their cause.
There is nothing good for women here, and women speaking will create a direct line between nazis and LWS, where before there was only an association because KJK was playing populist games. If progressive women support this it will harm feminism.
I am not allying with those who wnat to join these stand by your Woman gatherings.
If the left don't want to go, then don't, if the left want to protest respecting the right for those to gather then fine too. Works both ways.
And in any LW protest we cannot rely on the Police to keep the groups apart should the groups get too close.
Just do not let anyone take a play book from the OTT violence and misogyny and posturing that was part and parcel of the counter to the events of 25/3.
As Tweedie was involved with that his statements to his supporters are probably wise to them and hypocritical to me. I see no need to reframe this just because a RW group is meeting. He is no ally to the cause of women. He may be just a bad as the group he thinks it is unwise to protest against.
PS Not all men from the RW are Nazis. Why are we falling for this nazis/neo Nazis stuff, sounds like from the Trans dictionary also where everyone is a terf or a nazi. I have swathes of friends and family members who vote National or would call them selves as RW. They are not Nazis, they are RW.
I must admit I was not expecting many LW women to go, let alone LW men based mainly on that they may have read 'fundamentalism'/little women into the ad as I did.
I was not missing the point but the more opportunities there are to expose the anti women rant that is part of the trans ideology the better.
If RW women and RW men go and no-one else does then no-one from the left has has lost anything.
Just because the trans activists stopped us from speaking does not mean we should think that is a good strategy to adopt. It is not. It is anti free speech and so anti democratic.
That is why the protests at Julian Batchelor's talks focussed on quietly standing at the back then protesting, but not impeding those who wanted to go to his meetings.
Please explain how tying LWS to Nazis in the minds of NZers will help women’s rights. Not TRA bullshit about terfs being Nazis, but actual known Nazis taking part in the event. Not standing alongside but being part of the group, and the organisers and women speaking not distancing themselves or rejecting them.
Just because the trans activists stopped us from speaking does not mean we should think that is a good strategy to adopt. It is not. It is anti free speech and so anti democratic.
Explaining the problems with working with actual Nazis has nothing to do with the mob in Ak.
I am hoping that Tweedie and Kemara would go to the Police with their concerns.
Neither of them are women focussed though, so the idea of the LWS movement being affected would not be of much concern to them. Tweedie seems more concerned that the trans protestors may not have their own way to overrun etc as they had over a smaller, older and clearly female crowd in Akld.
We can warn women in our networks not to go. Many of the ones I am in contact with were not attracted & would not have encouraged any male partners because of the little women/fundamentalist feel.
The womens group in Aus were concerned but I had read that after Auckland SUFW for instance had been overwhelmed with women wanting to join and it has certainly reinvigorated some of the older women I am involved with. Mind you Hipkins had a part in that too.
I dislike the trans predilection for protesting at anything and everything that they think or find might throw doubt on their cause and to do this is a possibly disruptive and violent manner. They protested outside a lesbian conference, blocking the streets, noise etc. I think the venue was on the third floor at least of the building so the group would have disrupted the lives/work of the others in the building as well. Riley Gaines has been harassed. Surely they must have heard of democracy and that people are entitled to meet and hold their own views.
Hopefully SIS/GCSB would have Neo Nazis in their sights as well.
Well once we got to the point that woman became child bering people and the prime minister can't say what a woman is due to Trans people radicalism your going to get blow back, not condoning it just an observation.
Yes I agree with this observation…..we are unfortunately reaping what our society has sown.
While we can work hard in our own networks to warn women there is no denying that there is a sense of annoyance, to put it mildly, about the actions of the trans community/Govt in being complicit in denying the ability of women to see KJM/speak if they wanted to.
I'd also add most men imho would be in support of woman being women and toilet s sport and prisons being women only spaces, but due to finding the whole situation absurd in the extreme just shake their head iand move on.

Stand By Your Woman events closely linked to far right.
https://twitter.com/max_tweedie/status/1646388348800602114?s=20
https://twitter.com/Te_Taipo/status/1646241519953903622
Well there's a surprise…not.
Let Women Speak.
Max Tweedie et al…..
'I cannot emphasise enough: do protest these. “They intend to
carry out vigilante-ist directallow women to speak on women's rights & issues that we see, for some reason, as speaking action against trans people on public spaces.”/Sarc
If progressive women support this it will harm feminism.
we don't have to ally with that shit just because of what happened to LWS in Ak, nor deny the warnings just because they come from Tweedie or whoever.
The problem isn’t being RW. Helen Joyce is RW. The problem is literal neo Nazis are involved. Kyle Chapman.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Chapman_(New_Zealand_activist)
the Phil they are taking about above is Philip Arps
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Arps
There’s no way to organise politically and be legitimate if you have Nazis in your ranks.
This is a good write up from an Australian feminist on the fallout from KJK’s actions.
https://feministleft.wordpress.com/2023/04/12/who-won-who-lost-the-fallout-from-kellie-jay-keens-tour-downunder/
LWS I thought was the KJM event. It was stamped out here in NZ by the actions of the politicians and the trans community.
This event is not LWS though.
I agree with Bwaghorn.
Getting the snakes back in the box after the lid has been opened is going to be difficult.
I am wondering if there is anything more we can do to warn?
I thought that nazi regalia was banned.
