Meanwhile all we have to fix the roads and infrastructure is LOTS of FF – and HEAPS of Bitumen! All imported and all at the end of very long supply chains.
The oil from which the refinery residue became bitumen was imported previously.
NZs own oil was a very light fraction – condensate- which was used in refineries to 'sweeten' the heavy crude going through the distillation and cracking
