The current rise of populism challenges the way we think about people’s relationship to the economy. We seem to be entering an era of populism, in which leadership in a democracy is based on preferences of the population which do not seem entirely rational nor serving their longer interests. ...
The server will be getting hardware changes this evening starting at 10pm NZDT.

I will repeat here:
Wonderful news! Now… how to get them out of Ukraine safely:

Before we do an old fashioned beat-down of the ex Green health spokesperson and covid spokesperson for being dumb, Labour's Mr Clark was dumber as was actual Minister.
Dust yourself off team
Dr Elizabeth Anne Kerekere at some stage in their life was intelligent enough to get a Doctorate. Maybe in NZ that is the epitome of dumb, who knows.
Ditto for Dr David Clark.
How about they are just some entitled, rude, and quite inconsiderate people who think too highly about themselves and their need to be in Wellington or their need for holiday entertainment during a lockdown?
Sounds like a definition of dumb there.
Couldn't think of a better day to fuck up. Bridges and petrol tax buries it.
Still, dumb is the wrong adjective here. Entitled, cocksure, selfindulgent, arrogant. inconsidered all fit. Dumb is giving them a credit.
Bridges does as bridges does. And the petrol tax is a band aid for he bad press this week, but sadly one that will back fire as the prices will not go down, and the 25 cnts will be made up for with higher prices in less then 10 days.
But their actions was just that of persons who clearly believe that the law does not apply to them.
While the protestor on Russian TV is all over the media, I think its important to remember the part played by Vladislav Surkov in creating the Russia of today:

More censorship, the west is slowly turning into the Russians. Abby Martin who use to work for RT america and did a show called Breaking the Set has had all her historical interviews and commentary removed from youtube. Odd as she left RT america years ago, after the invasion of Crimea.
You know that Abby Martin that called out Russia for their invasion of Crimea live on RT. She then went and worked for TeleSUR, and is still critical of Russia and US Imperialism.
So begs the question, that these none elected corporations taking the time to remove any media which is critical of them under the cover of war. Are they very scummy or total scummy?
Surprising that Fox News hasn't been deplatformed for cuddling up to Putin.
But I guess it's a bigger sin to tell the truth about the excesses of the American Empire than to contantly lie and spin disinformation that serves the US oligarchy
Good news

Thanks Adam…I forgot to check the Colombian results. Yes a solid move to the Left and a fairer Colombian society and restarting the peace talks by the looks.
A reporter on parliament's morning. "There were tubid events" I think they meant turbulent???
Or turbid? (of a liquid) cloudy, opaque, or thick with suspended matter.
But that doesn't fit either ……
Turbulent it is.
Hope it is not this turbulent
"Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?" (also expressed as "troublesome priest" or "meddlesome priest") is a quote attributed to Henry II of England preceding the death of Thomas Becket, the Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1170. While the quote was not expressed as an order, it prompted four knights to travel from Normandy to Canterbury, where they killed Becket. The phrase is commonly used in modern-day contexts to express that a ruler's wish may be interpreted as a command by his or her subordinates."
