The current rise of populism challenges the way we think about people’s relationship to the economy. We seem to be entering an era of populism, in which leadership in a democracy is based on preferences of the population which do not seem entirely rational nor serving their longer interests. ...

German led EC plan to limit gas across Europe, unwinds as countries question the closing of German Nuclear fleet (and subsequent reliance on russian gas )

Poland has offered to lease the German reactors, whilst Belgium has started plans to extend life of existing reactors.
Germany also has an emerging constitutional constraint, with a debt ceiling of 60% of gdp (the emergency provisions of a 100b euro wont last long due to nationalization and subsidy's of FF)
“And besides, the fuel rods are generally imported from Russia. As such one should think about what one does.”

"According to Germany’s Economy Ministry, nuclear power currently provides only 5% of the country’s electricity."
Although the issues likely have solutions it dosnt appear it would be of a huge assistance.
Sweden said they can supply within 120 days (like the last shipment being the most recent supplier)
There is a lot of misleading information coming from Harbecks economy advisors (political greens not appointed)

The german nuclear reactors produce around 6.5% of electricity (7.5% yesterday compared with 8.9% gas).

Very odd behaviour that being the case…..one would think German industry would be twisting every arm they can find
Internal German politics,Scholl wants them to remain (Harbeck continue with closure) then Harbeck offers deal of tradeoff, that they can stay on in return for speed limit on autobahn,They are also carefully watching the Euro,as OZ and FED review interest rates currency depreciation removing softening commodity changes.
And yet they burn more coal to (attempt to) compensate for the reduced gas (and nuclear)….no wonder PIIGS (+) are balking,…EU appears determined to split.
They burn lignite 2/1 over hard coal.
UK will be in same boat as Norway wants market prices both for gas and electricity.Truss and her blah blah with tax cuts, would be a self painted corner (UK interest payments on debt now 19.5b sterling a month)

I think most of the thermal generation in europe this winter will be haystacks and burning cars.

Just on Euro market ,red head across terminal with ECB saying large hikes are foreseeable.
You guys are a barrel of laughs.
Is Russia stressed?
Russia is probably stressed by only getting the same income from 40% less exports.
China the middle class is stressed,by the Xi ideology that a property is a place to live, not an investment,as mortgage strikes continue for unfinished property, deposits frozen, the level generation (16-24) unemployment rate twice the US.
Emerging market crisis extends to most of central asia and its only monday.
Don't mention the war!
the easiest way to start a war,is to appoint the wrong pronoun.
Hope someone in cabinet is paying attention.
