Final results in the British Columbia elections have confirmed the BC Greens hold the balance of power in the provincial legislature.

That’s an incredibly close election. Of course, if they had MMP or STV in multimember constituencies, it wouldn’t have been remotely close.

I’ve been out all afternoon so haven’t followed the budget. Am I right that there is no relief for beneficiaries? (assuming that the accommodation supplement increase is sucked up by rent increases).

Also wondering why people on higher incomes get more help than those on lower ones.

  4. I’m getting a bit worried about Melania.

    American Gothic meets Papal Chic.

Mind you, el presidente probably picked up a few interior decoration ideas if he wants to tone down the rococo bukakke inside Trump Tower.

Jesus Christ, what a screw up Joyce’s project has been.

“Something has obviously gone wrong. Either the design was inadequate or the execution of the design hasn’t gone to plan.”

-Infrastructure New Zealand chief executive Stephen Selwood

(Matt) Lowrie was concerned there would be a traffic chaos as drivers using the tunnel to get to the city merged with traffic already on the northwestern motorway.

“I think they’re fearful of the impact congestion’s going to have on the narrative of the tunnel,” he said. “It’s quite likely we’ll see congestion get worse.”

Consider this project which he launched. Consider the plagiarism of Eminem. Consider the Northland by-election result. Consider Josie Butler’s protest that went global.

Anyone think his performance as finance minister will be any different?

As the transport blog (now rebranded ‘Greater Auckland’) people say, it’s now all about making sure Aucklanders have their expectations modified on the performance of the project.

Initially the project was to relieve congestion on SH1, but now the talk from NZTA is to only expect relief off peak on suburban roads around the immediate area.

Obviously the National government, NZTA, and Fletchers haven’t got their marketing right yet.

21 people are dead – murdered by ISIS/head chopper supporter groups in the Philippines.

It’s been going on since Tuesday.

My thoughts are with my Filipino friends and workmates who have family caught up in this nightmare.
