I note a drive to have bilingual road signs. Not a problem for me.

But then the torys are saying it will confuse motorists. I assume that their information comes from their supporters. If that is the case. Can I say that if that confuses Tory voters then they are too thick to hold a driver's license.

However I do look forward to bilingual signs for; Waiuku, Pukekohe, Taupo, Rotorua, Whakatane etc

Need to be careful we don't end up our own arse here.

Kinda would be a cool touch.

      Rotorua, 2nd lake.

Whakatane, man the boat, although that is really an abbreviated version of the story of whakatane

Pathetic interview with Chris Hipkins on this issue on tv3 as usual.

Man the Tory press are really quite scummy in election years.

I see another one of Labour's strong performers is in trouble.

And I bet you're creaming yourself about this. Let's see how the 'Hearing' goes first.

Not something that fills me with joy or excitement. National has had its share as well, and probably will in the future.

More interesting than anything. If it wasn't election year, she probably would get off without much consequence given the government has a majority on the committee.

But I wonder if that will be the case with an election looming. The government may want to look tough and credible and therefore, come down a lot harder than otherwise would have been the case.

Personally, I don't think she deserves to lose her job over this. But, I think she may well get a final warning.

    Remember, the pandemic is over.

More than 180 people have been confirmed infected since attending a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conference—one that was held for the very same personnel whose job it is to contain rapidly spreading diseases. A meeting of the agency’s Epidemic Intelligence Service at an Atlanta hotel in late April was the origin of the mini-outbreak, The Washington Post reported. The event had 1,800 people in attendance, about 70 percent of whom did not wear a mask, according to a CDC survey. Thankfully, nobody has been hospitalized in connection with the CDC conference outbreak. The agency is planning to host another meeting at the same venue next month.

We kind of forget that it is still around, but in a rest home that I know of are currently having an outbreak with 10 in the rest home wing and 4 in the hospital wing out of about 120 residents.

That's real serious stuff for old folks and I feel for them, but also for the staff who will be working above and beyond to contain it whilst also trying not to take it home to their families.

      My thoughts are with them.

the cognitive dissonance outstrips that of climate change.

This is huge. Years of guild lobbying finally gets the incentive for lower budget movies instead of just the massive international ones. Maybe NZ film will finally get some life back into it, since the NZFC can't get it's shit together.
