Two Prime Ministers meet. Reporter from Newstalk ZB (of course) asks if the girlies had a pillow fight in the sorority dorm. OK, not literally what he asked but he might as well have.

It's been 5 years* and there are still people in the NZ media doing this. Unbelievable.

Press conference with the 2 PMs, today.

    (*actually it’s been 130 years)

It's ZB, the house of hoskins, woodham etc. That's all it's capable of aside from the supplied attack lines or fawning depending on who the subject is.

Expect less from the MSM, you'll not be disappointed.

      Name and shame, please.

I am reminded of a line I heard from a former senior ACT official during the Helen Clark years, He talked about… having to change the word 'cockpit'[as in aircraft] to 'c**tpit'.

The sort of demeaning misogynistic comment one can expect from that political quarter.

  2. Poission 2

NZ treasury bills hit 5.12% for 1 yr in todays tender, as the cost of borrowing for debt increases.

Local government borrowing to get more expensive as both Wellington CC and Marlborough councils downgraded by S&P. as risk off increases to indebted entities.

German food inflation comes in at 21% yoy in November ( near real term data) as winter starts to bite.

With the direct subsidy of 200b euro the energy costs are somewhat abated, but German CO2 goes through roof as Coal ramps up,LNG coming from Australia, and long term LNG contract with Qatar commencing 2024 ( 20 yr contract)

In Italy food inflation is 'just' 14%…..ouch

    • Shanreagh 4.2

This can't be correct. And there are other 'incorrect' reports about inflation, post Covid, in other countries

Inflation is only happening in NZ isn't it and only because we have

      a) a female PM,

      or

      b) a Labour Govt

      or

      c) a low unemployment rate

NB Served with a heaped dose of sarc.

      • Poission 4.2.1

Australia just came in at 6.9% for October (only NZ and Upper volta have 1/4 CPI) the AUS figures include a fuel tax increase (as subsidy removed) and increased costs for Electricity, and rents.

Europe has higher electricity costs due to poor policy.

NZ government debt (total borrowings ) is now 217 billion an increase on last year of 33 billion (ytd) and the interest bill is now 2 b (for the 4 months post budget)
