David Seymour is the smeghead of the year

I know the year is only part way through and that it is election year so there will be endless opportunities for politicians to be really dickish about things but I think we should call it now. We have a winner. No politican will be able to do worse than this.

The smeghead of the year is David Seymour.

Why?

Among all of the stupid things that politicians, mainly right wing politicians, do, what could he have done that was so bad?

Well he made a really bad taste joke about Pike River. Where 29 workers lost their lives because of corporate incompetence and greed. Where families still grieve and want the Government to honour it’s broken promise to bring the bodies out.

Imagine the most stupid thing you could say. It would probably be along the lines of making sure that someone else died in the mine.

Yep that is what Seymour promised. From Newshub:

Act Party leader David Seymour has been denounced for a joke he made saying he would “close the door” on New Zealand First leader Winston Peters if he re-entered Pike River mine.

During his election campaign, Mr Peters has repeatedly insisted he would only work with a Government which stuck to several ‘bottom lines’ – including manned re-entry into the Pike River mine.

“Re-entry of Pike River is one I agree with, I’ll be there to close the door after him,” Mr Seymour told Newshub.

I suspect that no one, absolutely no one will vote for ACT on the West Coast this year.  And for the people of Epsom and I urge you to hold your breath, say a prayer and vote Paul Goldsmith when you vote at this election.

    You should run a poll on the stupidest comments by politicians during 2017, this would make the list as would Hone’s death penalty bigotry burp and there’s bound to have been plenty more and they stupid will ramp up over the next few months.

                    Meanwhile her parties policy on the matter will save lives and feed kids among other things, giving the most vulnerable (the kids) a chance in life.

                    There is enormous support out there for Meti, it’s all over the social media, only those desperate to stay in power will slam her for being economical with the truth in order to feed her child.

                      Metiria committed fraud. Peter Thiel, from what I understand, exploited a loophole that should never have existed.     Here’s exactly what he said:

    The commitment remains, but there was no promise of success, particularly when the circumstances of the mine are so precarious. Re-entering the mine would be a high risk exercise that would place other lives at risk and the state in a position of potential liability. It should not even be contemplated until those risks are mitigated.

          “After the first explosion the EPMU strongly defended the management of PRC.
          EPMU National secretary Andrew Little (now a Labour MP) told the New Zealand Herald on November 22 2010 that there was “nothing unusual about Pike River or this mine that we’ve been particularly concerned about”. He then appeared on TVNZ’s Close Up to again defend PRC management. He told Close Up that underground mining was inherently unsafe and the risk of gas explosions, particularly on the West Coast, was high. While the industry was aware of the risks and took the necessary precautions, unfortunately these kinds of incidents still happened, he argued.
          On November 26, 2010 the Dominion Post ran an article that denounced ‘wild’ rumours that the mine was not safe. It declared that “Any suggestion of obvious or known safety lapses does not find traction with unionised staff or union leader Andrew Little.””

    I have been on the receiving end of Seymours sarcasm and the problem is that he thinks he is being funny he also opens his mouth before his brain kicks into gear and you get this type of insensitive crap.

    But ACT is a corporate party so no one should be surprised it’s how corporate entities view the world…..everyone is expendable where profit is involved and that is how Seymour looks at the world and his country.
