Those eligible to be vaccinated and have not yet been vaccinated are going to be the dollars of the day.

I initially was booked for today and went a day early for the second jab. All went very well.

I've wondered about the conscience of a teacher should one of their students get the virus and die as one can be infectious without knowing you have the virus. For those quitting the profession I'd like to know what their preference would have been.

And, I'd like to know what protection teachers have in "open plan" overcrowded classrooms. Do they have the right to exclude students from unvaccinnated and antivaxx families?

Government, MOH, DHBs, medical practices, pharmacies, marae, media, personalities, businesses and any other organisation, deserve praise and congratulations and thanks for all the huge amount of work and logistical planning that have gone into today's vaxathon across the whole country. Many many long hours have gone into doing this. I think it is absolutely amazing.

I hope families turn out for this today. A beautiful day today, just right to get vaccinated and add treats to a picnic lunch Arohanui everyone.

See Tamaki out running a super spreader again today.

      Water Cannon?
Spray with a dye some they can be recognised?

There's also a subreddit devoted to it – r/hermancainaward . It's loaded with sad stories.

It might be "cheesy" but it is re-affirming a sense of community which has frayed a little lately. The vaxathon appears to be getting people out. 10 000 Maori so far. 60 000 total at 12.30 The happy family groups, enthusiastic sports people and presenters. We need to be supporting such endeavours not slinging off and acting "above" that!! This is our community getting onboard. Thank you all the health people for your mahi. Thank you local people for turning out. It is heart warming to see.

Remember the advert "She's a big job" answer "And we're not dreeeaming!!"

    1,500 to go

There is no New Zealand equivalent to achieving a policy goal involving 90% of the population in 6 months, or involving 105,000 (3.29pm) NZ citizens in a single day.

Ardern and the government have achieved on a scale without modern precedent.

Bring on the vaccine certificates and let's get ready to party through summer.

smileysmileyyes Brilliant day Ad I am so pleased for Jacinda. This gave hubby and I and friends we have msm'd today a great deal of joy. The ice has been broken in some households and doubters have gone in to get vaxed. Peer pressure? FOMO? We don't care it has worked and I know some very happy families.

At 2,000 people, the Brian Tamaki protest is going to be about 1.5% of what Ardern had led in a day.

    Seems about right.

The Police were filming and apparently said charges would be laid.

It is particularly remarkable that none of the leadership have reached for the enforcement rod to gain higher vaccine takeup today. It’s a celebration right across Twitter and the MSM.

Enforcement has been left to the Police and it is minimal even at that.

If you ever wanted of Ardern's kind of politics compared to anyone else's currently out there, today defines it.

Tamaki's bail conditions from his court appearance seemed to prevent him from attending 'a protest event'.

Me thinks the pastor may be be spending some days in the penitentiary… for humble reflection of course.

    110,000 at 3.50pm.

13,000 by the end of the day?

That would push NZ into the 86% first shot territory.

    • Red Blooded One 14.1

oops, can't edit sorry, 1st and 2nd doses by the hour

    • Ad 14.2

Shows as a proportion per minute of the day rather than as a cumulative total.

      But good graphic.

    • SPC 14.3

Seems about a third first does and two thirds second doses

So 50,000 and 100,000 being the ball park figures.

That takes it from 83% of eligible to c84.5 first dose and maybe 62 to c66% second dose.

There should be a chocolate fish awarded to the one with the best guess – given out around the time I win Lotto Powerball.

      • SPC 14.3.1

It's now 85% first dose and 65% second dose (89% first dose in Auckland).

And I only won $50 on Lotto (80-30).

        So it's onto 90/90 nationwide and $42M …

    120,000 at 5pm

Everyone in our household is double vaxed. All extended family have been told, and warned, they will not be allowed on the property or at any family gathering, unless they have had a least one vaccination, preferably two.

    Our new family motto.

Don't be a Scab Get the Jab.

I am fortunate to be in a level 2 zone. A heat pump assessor the company they work for rang me a day ahead for a health screen, they said that the person would wear a mask. They turned up without a mask so I wore one.

Once Covid is in my region I do not want any work carried out unless it is urgent. A renter should be able to have the control of not having a tradie in their home even if it is for compliance of the healthy homes legislation.

32 weren't allowed to get together for a bowling tournament in our district today but hundreds were allowed to get together for a protest about 'individual choice.'

  14. Gezza 19

    Yay! 😀

We made it! Fantastic. Keep up the good mahi, Kiwis. 👍🏼
