National is still promising more with less, and not achieving it.
Of course, although you can’t magic away waste, you can make choices with policies that can be good or bad. National’s taken a lot of bad ones – RoNS, borrowing for tax cuts, asset sales, giving free shares to people who can afford to buy shares, subsidising pollution. Get rid of them and you have money for other, better choices like paid parental leave, not taking food out of the mouths of poor children, investing in education instead of cutting it.
