In Fear the Boom and Bust, John Maynard Keynes and F. A. Hayek, two of the great economists of the 20th century go out for a night on the town and sing about why there’s a “boom and bust” cycle in modern economies and good reason to fear it.

    I love the rap.

However I find it amusing how little Americans actually understand about their own system. x_x

Well, we already elected John Key once and it looks like the right want him again. So, soon enough we may not be able to hassle America for GW Bush… >_<

Daveo – I don’t really care about how you what to define left or right or where you want to pigeonhole my political beliefs with your labels. As I’ve said before right and left are so used and abused in the mainstream that they’re essentially useless now. If we worked by Hess’ left-right spectrum I’d probably call you right wing. As you know I support the free market and as I’ve already told you many socialists and leftists throughout history have also (as I’ve said before if you want to argue the point with someone who cares try this forum or someone like this or this, just try your luck they’re rip you a new intellectual orifice). If you want to call them right wing fine. If you want to call me right wing fine. I’d rather argue over more substantive issues than an absurd label.

If you want a label I’m an anarchist.

There’s a podcast here discussing the video including the makers and a viewing by Kesha.

    Holy fucking lol.

  7. Now come on guys, that video has been out for a month now. Do try to keep up!!

Actually the good thing about the video is that the economics are about right. Its hard to get the main points of Keynes and Hayek’s ideas across in such a short time, but the video does it very well.
