Sound, sensible and sane discussion…provides perspective and proportion to Te Virus.
Hopefully, in time, we will learn something. Which is that we should not, ever, run about panicking, following the madly waved banners… ever again. However, I suspect that we will. This pandemic is going to be a model for all mass panicking stupidity in the future. Because to do otherwise, would be to admit that we made a pig’s ear of it this time. Far too many powerful reputations at stake to allow that.

It is unknown how the graphs would look were there no lockdowns.
The cause/s of death have always been open to speculation even when the coroner's office has been involved.
The charts aren't fine enough to give any detail. Should have at least treated each year as a distinct data series.
But for someone not wanting to pick a side, they certainly seem to be touting "nothing to see here". So many cases means there is more knowledge on how to treat it, sure, but there's also the fact that a whole bunch of people have been sequestering themselves for nine months straight because their governments think hairdressers and bars are essential services.
The linked article (on Redline) was penned by Scottish doctor, author, speaker and sceptic Malcolm Kendrick on 21 July 2020 – much like this reply, it's hardly the "latest offering."

It was quiet and low-key, which is how I prefer it, as an introvert. Covid forced a major change of plans this year, which is not how I’d prefer it. Spending too much time on-line is my current vice, it seems, in between bursts of physical activity (no rocking or swaying!). It feels like 2020 is still in full swing and life is either crazily hectic or boringly quiet. The new normal?
