With the top 3 teams eliminated, the door opens for France vs the Olympic sevens champions Fiji. France now favourites.

Still South Africa, Australia and Fiji there. None of them easy beats at sevens.

Landmark new research shows how global warming is messing with our rainfall [26 July 2024]
This volatility might come in the form of worse droughts. Or it might mean much bigger increases in extreme rainfall and flooding.

The variability will challenge governments and communities in many ways, from managing scarce water resources to coping with natural disasters. We should start preparing for these future challenges now.

And as this dire global problem worsens, the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit global warming, becomes ever more pressing.

It’s a case of slower to go faster. – Luxon [3 May 2023]

Gotta hand it to them – our CoC govt has got 'slower' down to a tee.

Meanwhile, team T-rump is renewing their own ‘solution’ to (what?) global warming.

Exclusive: the Trump administration demoted this climate scientist — now she wants reform [24 July 2024]
Her supporters say the proposed reforms could help her agency, the US Geological Survey (USGS), as well as others safeguard science in the event of a second Trump administration, which many fear will be even more efficient than the first at sidelining science and scientists.

A great idea, Chuck near the shops a bowling Green and a golf club , and it's trumps

Yes a great idea and absolutely needed however the CoC would likely be interested in 'farming' the elderly for revenue sadly. At $16 million cost they could start planning some big raffles guys – I'm up to buy tickets for that cause.

TVNZ should hang its head in shame after its deplorable hit job on Orana Park recently. A rapid assessment by MPI has just cleared the park of animal welfare concerns.

TVNZ should apologise immediately for the publicity damage caused IMO. Perhaps Orana Park should launch a defamation suit against TVNZ.

Yes at the time I thought it was unjustified. Of coure some animals will get sick and some will die. Mind you the last time I went there over a year ago it did look a bit shabby..TVNZ lookd as if they didn't have anyone to kick around after their hit jobs on the labour government.ceased..

Seeing Bernie Sanders in action railing against Congress inviting Netanyahu's address as a war criminal, reminds me how much admiration i have for Bernie.

For a guy who's an unrepentant democratic socialist and 82, his moral drive remains undiminished.

What a grand force he is.

An item "The state care decision that rippled through four generations" on Radio NZ's website today makes very upsetting reading. It brought tears to my eyes to read about this tragedy which happened in our country that we were told as children was "a land of milk and honey". There is a very dark and cruel past in our history.

Thanks to the last Labour Government which initiated this Royal Commission of Inquiry.

Few in the MSM appear to have the cojones to point out it was the former Labour Govt.'s initiative. Yet they allow Luxon and his band of bandits to wallow in faux tears over what happened, and to lap up public sentiment even though they did damn-all over the years because it wasn't their people who were affected.

… that we were told as children was "a land of milk and honey".

That reminds me of something overheard (35 years ago) in the office of a small Auckland law practice specialising in immigration cases – 'New Zealand is the land of milk and honey, but you have to bring your own cows and bees!'

The PM could have had Chris Hipkins beside him when giving his speech. Guess that was too much to expect that the PM would be gracious for once.
