Nicky Wagner couldn’t “make it” to the debate about Canterbury Regeneration in Christchurch last night. The former Minister and local MP, Gerry Brownlee, had time on his hands and stepped in. If it were a personal emergency I am sure they would have said?

In some circles (Disability) Ms Wagner has a reputation for being unprepared and/or under prepared. It would be scary to think she pulled out because she didn’t feel she was well informed enough to perform for her party. Scary because she has been drawing a salary for the portfolio since 2014 when she was Outside Cabinet as Minister, Associate Canterbury Earthquake Recovery. So why the secret? Just tell us where she was that she couldn’t make it in time.

Hers is a chequered voting history (very socially conservative) and she employed Simon Lusk he of Dirty Politics fame).

That does seem odd. A work schedule issue but they won’t say what it is.

Did Gerry throw any one out the door ?

A bit odd. But didn’t English run away from dissenters the other day?
Perhaps she is just a bit shy.

When you have a government as lousy as this, the less the public see them the better they like them. English would be doing much better in the polls if he’d invented some excuse to be in Guatemala for most of the election period. Except with the Guatemalans of course.

  5. 23 days.

That is how long we have to suffer this useless Minister of the Crown.
She is the bottom of the barrel situation, cant see what English saw of her to give her a ministerial post.

But, she isn’t alone in the bottom of the barrel, in fact it is jam packed with nondescript looses.

Seems fear is growing in the Natz now. ‘No show’ is the coward’s way out of being challenged or criticised.

She added a helluva lot more by being absent than if sh’ed been there.

We know that and they know that. Being away was better for them.

And yet she can get around to sending me a email begging for money.
