Vivid description from John Armstrong of Rodney encountering his ex-Deputy yesterday. According to Armstrong:

There she sat. Heather Roy was back, most definitely. This was no apparition even if Hide looked like he was seeing one….

Hide stared at the ceiling. He stared at the walls. He then chatted to Sir Roger, thus avoiding having to chat to Roy before the Speaker’s arrival and, likewise, she having to chat to him. She, meanwhile, struggled to conceal her absolute delight at her audacity. Hide wore the reflective smile of someone who knew he had been outfoxed.

No wonder Mr Key is trying desperately to make it look like all is stable at the big table. TVNZ reported him as saying:

Act is still a solid partner for the government and its five votes are reliable and that they are clearly going through some issues but they are dealing with those issues and in the end it’s for them to sort out who is their leader and deputy leader.

The cost of it all going very wrong is pretty high for National…

The photo is beautiful, the comely little blonde and her paramour the strutting ball room dancer…how sweet. How could such a romance come so unstuck? Read about it in this weeks Womens Weekly….who cares?

I’ve read that he could be keeping out the guy who wants to challenge him for leadership.

Is that a direct quote from Key? Talk about rambling run-on sentence.

“Act’s caucus has accepted that Roy wasn’t aware of, or responsible for, the leaking of the document and Roy has accepted Hide’s word that he did not pass on any cabinet papers.”

Wha’s that word for a peace deal where both sides admit they were right and agree to call off hostilities for a period of rearmament?

Rodney was speaking on board a warship, in front of a large banner: “Mission Accomplished!”

It has the appearance of a false political marriage.
