I didn't link to Kerre's opinion. I linked to, and quoted directly, a comment by Wendy Esera. "It's a 4 yr plan Gypsy." You mean like Kiwibuild was a 10 year plan?
"Kerre's opinion is not fact..." Irrelevant. I haven't put forward Kerre's opinion as fact. I haven't put Kerre's opinion forward to justify anything I have said. "Little said the money is being spent and it is making a difference." Why was only 0.2% of ...
Yep, it as. As demonstrated in this example by their own Minister's frustration.
"In mental health, as in other areas, this government seems quite adept at allocating and/or spending a lot of money but getting little in the way of results." Happy now?
I'm not sure who claimed 'nothing has been done'. In mental health, as in other areas, this government seems quite adept at spending a lot of money but getting little in the way of results. If you don't accept what I'm saying, perhaps you'll take the word ...
From the article: "A review has found no change in access to specialist mental health services in five years despite the Government's $1.9 billion cash injection in 2019. The review has also found that one-in-five people in New Zealand are not followed up ...
"Leo winning is irrelevant, he won't be able to change anything he'll be a figure head." Very true, and that applies to any mayor. The only way a mayor can truly advance his/her agenda is to have a majority of councillors in the same camp, and that's up to...
"you are incorrect and repeating Bradbury's opinion doesn't make it anymore true either. " That's not true - as OMT has pointed out - It's not only Bradbury. Bernard Orsman made the point about Efeso's being unpopular within labour. "Collins has announced ...
Craig Lord is a candidate with profile and came third in the last election. His candidacy risks splitting the vote on the right. So he is most certainly a threat. The idea that there is some racist campaign to undermine Collins doesn't stack up.
Sure, press releases from government. I agree with your comment that it was not a bad interview. But people like Wendy Esera are clearly seeing a different picture than is being presented by the governments spin.
True, maybe I was a bit harsh. Maybe she does care. That doesn't change what people on the ground (like Wendy Esera) are observing.
Press releases from the PM? "The principal of Henderson Intermediate, Wendy Esera, has been in education for 44 years and says student poverty is the worst she's seen." I doubt the PM would know student poverty if it bit her on the arse.
"Coincidentally, another regular commenter here, " FFS are you serious? I have been away on a ban YOU imposed. And I would hope you would give me more credit than to dream up a moniker like 'Old Man Time'. [Why are you using two aliases here and ...
If the campaign to demean Collins (whatever that means) was about racism, why isn't there a campaign to discredit Craig Lord?
"Kerre said the government has pumped millions into this problem…where has the money gone?" Clearly not into anything that actually achieves results. But then this government has form for 'pumping' money into problems and getting little in the way of ...
That's interesting because Craig Lord has at times been missed out of media coverage of the mayoral election, despite finishing third in 2019, and being the only surviving candidate from that election.
Hard to argue with that, although to be fair, that's partly the fault of the way the super city was set up. The Nat's screwed it up from the outset, and we're paying the price of the vacuum they created.
And in anticipation that you will try to claim your comment was about 'ownership', the comment you were replying to when you made your claim, and my subsequent comments, have referred to 'control' not 'ownership'.
"Can you handle a one-page Summary Fact Sheet on Three Waters Reform – Rural water supplies? " And then you go on to provide a link about transfer of ownership. Your claim was "Private schemes are outside the Three Waters reforms." and yet your own ...
The link is in the original post. But you know that. https://www.qldc.govt.nz/media/hv4bxvy3/acquisition-and-vesting-of-private-3-waters-scheme-policy-draft-rev-1-16-12-2021.pdf The NZH article is relevant to the wider discussion about 3Waters and it's ...
So you are given a list of requirements proposed for private schemes and you double down! Your comment about private schemes being “outside the Three Waters reforms” was incorrect. On the wider issue of 3Waters, I suggest you read the article by Sandra ...
confusion reigns Gee I wouldn't go that far. We know enough to determine the scheme is inferior to alternatives. But look I'll be generous and save you some time. When you said "Private schemes are outside the Three Waters reforms" you obviously weren't ...
Agreed, and if the government can't get the Nats on board, it won't pass anyway.
Good question. According to this guy, "A Ruapehu district councillor says allowing Māori voters to switch electoral rolls at any time would be a huge step towards removing barriers to voting." In reality nothing is stopping anyone voting, it's purely the ...
Thanks. So even if a different system was used to determine the electoral map, there would still be a potential problem with anyone shifting between the Maori and General rolls between establishing the boundaries and the election. I'm also thinking of how ...
You do have a way with words! In this case you're spot on.
You're right in that the timing of the roll choice should coincide with the determination of the number of Maori seats. But can this be done outside of a census period? Or is the electoral map only adjusted from census data?
Perhaps the government should have thought all this through before effectively stealing assets paid for by ratepayers and private citizens.
That's not what Keiran McAnulty told a meeting in the Wairarapa. It's also not what people are being told in areas such as Queenstown. I suspect there is some confusion.
These schemes have ben paid for by private citzens, who are quite happy to control their system, and not at all happy having it stolen from them.
"I'm sure there are indeed several thousand on private water systems, but seriously Labour never had them to start with." I have a friend who lives on a lifestyle block near Masterton. He's one of the many rural people who is part of a private scheme, and ...
