John Key proved one thing this week. When it comes to international affairs, he’s full of s**t.
Despite all his claims about being best buds with Barack Obama, he didn’t even get an invite to meet him from top U.S. diplomat Hillary Clinton.
He probably didn’t help future chances either by referring to Hillary as “President Clinton”. You sure are a class act John.
edit: Clinton may yet announce an invite over the next day and a half. If she does I will be the first to admit I’m wrong.

I think it just shows Johnny is so focused on getting a photo op with a Prez, that he was flustered by being one step removed from reaching his dream.
On the US president choice, I always thought it was a bit of a toss up as to whether Obama or Clinton would have been the best president. However, I though Clinton would maybe have the benefit of some knowledge in dealing with the blocks with the real power in the US – corporates, etc.
Fairly early on, it looked like the MSM swung behind Obama, probably as a way to keep Clinton out of the White House. That seemed to indicate to me, that the powerful corporates saw Obama as less of a threat. Also, Obama was getting support from some of the big financial interests fairly early on (Goldman Sachs, I think as an example). So he was already a bit disempowered before he even started.
But, really, as time goes on JK looks less and less up to the PM job. Next time can we have a proper Prime Minister, please.
